1+1=1? Math isn’t our strong suit but this time we’re sure the equation is true. Namely, Scotland’s own gift to underground dance music, Hand-Made, might be two lads but are so well synced that you’d think it was one fine gentleman. 

Hailing from the misty parts of Edinburgh, Euan and Lewis have as a duo made themselves a staple in their hometown. Whether it be their critically acclaimed residency, at the critically acclaimed club Sneaky Pete’s, to their gigs between South East Asia, South America and sunny mountains of Central Europe, they’ve made their city proud. 

Having a delicate finger on the pulse, they can move in between different genres with the best of them (seriously, check their YouTube channel and mixes to get a sense...), and we really don’t know what took us so long to invite them for. 

Anyhow, without further ado... the men of the hour have dusted of some trusty “bangers n mash” for us. You could perhaps even say the mix is... “Hand Made” for our series (badum-tum tsh).

"This mix is inspired by the atmosphere of Champs Elysées, and its relationship to Dance music in the 2000's and today.
I've been djing in this area of Paris for some time now, and it made me love to play extended sets, 4/5 hours usually, trying to slowly build a whole vibe, more than playing banger after banger.

I wanted to make a mix that is 100% me, that people can listen to and straight away get the idea of what would it sound like to hear me play. 
It's also an ode to the early Champs Elysées days of dance music, with the Respect is Burning parties in the 2000's especially. All the great French and international DJ's were playing there and were bringing their own sound in a very motley, eclectic vibe, I love it."

Mindscape - Joy Within (Planet Gong Dub) (Preview)

This week is packed with new music and new guests on Honest Work, and what a nice way to start but with meeting up with Monique Samantha (@moniquesamanthaznam) and William (@___wa.2) on Wednesday afternoon at THF! Representing the deep electronic and dance music scene of Stockholm, Sweden --- Monique and William brought an interesting perspective to the THF Radio studio. 

William brought lots of unknown wax and a few digital jams to the party, and Monique finished out the show by playing unreleased tracks and telling stories about the fertile Swedish music scene. Honest Work is partially about discovery, and it was such an honour for my friends to come down to Berlin with all these new and unknown sounds! If you're in Stockholm in the near future, check out Monique's female-focused collective called Girlz With Good Taste - they throw nice events on a quasi-regular basis.
