AnnaOtta's iconic tracks “What if” and “Don't complain” are part of the duo's first album "What if" and were recorded in one take in an improvised live session. Robin Flux' remixes turn the songs into danceable versions of themselves without losing the distinctive and memorable sound of AnnaOtta's vocal alchemy. The remixes are dreamy trips into ambient deep house and UK inspired broken beats, relying on elaborate vocal processing and self-crafted generative sound synthesis algorithms.

Following on from January’s well loved Soulful Culture Volume 1, a compilation which was universally praised on release, Tribe label boss Zepherin Saint is now ready to let loose Volume 2 of what is a truly fantastic series in the making. 

Soulful Culture is a unique concept which see’s Zepherin delve deep into the Tribe Records annals to pinpoint some of the finest Soulful electronic gems from across the labels storied history. On this album he has given them a well deserved new lease of life combining them with some of his most cherished tracks from his DJ sets across the years. These are tracks which have been both inspirational and essential in Zepeherin Saint sets, go to cuts which he has supported time and again as he has traversed some of the finest venues the world over. The whole compilation is an inspired combination of soulful diversity featuring tracks which come from vastly different times, places and experiences yet which intertwine perfectly.

Volume 2 takes the concept on at a pace. Indeed, it’s an album which is brimming with some of the most sublimely talented producers who have graced the scene over the last couple of decades.

Stepping up to the production plate are Larry Heard, Louie Vega, Patrice Scott, Kai Alice, Trinidadian Deep, Timmy Regisford, Alex Attias and Arnold Jarvis. They are revered names from across the last three decades of House music. On Soulful Culture the stand side by side with names who over the last few years have begun to carve their own niche including Nathan Adams, Jose Carretas, Mi Casa, The Lounge Lizards, Deep Soul Syndicate, Oral Deep, Filipe Narciso and Devoted. They are artists from all sides of the globe showing the endless depth of what is a welcoming and life affirming scene. 

From deep percussion fuelled house through hypnotic acid tinged masterpieces and onwards via divine broken beat and soul bearing vocals this is an album which is quite simply brimming with depth and warmth. Featuring fourteen euphoric tracks it’s an album where every cut perfectly compliments those around it.

"Everybody In is thrilled to start 2022 in dark mode with the sounds by St. Petersburg artist Alexey Sergeevich a.k.a. Nightdrive and his new EP ‘Inamoto’. Alexey graduated in accordion and moved into producing relatively recently in 2015. He has been particularly active in producing several dozen releases, cassettes and vinyl records for many labels worldwide.

The opener ‘Inamoto’ is a micro-house experiment that drives you into the 80's synth-pop era and goes even further, phasing patterns and melodic minimalism. Its resonant computer drums propel into the action of organic expressionism, rising into flight from its dusty origins.

‘Ray’ was born as a solo pad exercise, then evolved as a tech-house track. A beam piercing the clouds, imbuing an analog static with a synthetic expansive ambient sound.

The Ep closer ‘Arps’ is a techno banger doing much more, a transcontinental flight, a track that takes us to Manchester’s old-school rave parties on the outskirts of the capitals.

The past couple of years have provided an ideal breeding ground for periods of reflection. Of rediscovery. And for the reignition of dwindling flames. Perhaps this is why the meeting of Tom Churchill and 2Sox is the perfect match at the perfect time. A collision of minds stoking a fire that has sizzled away into a 12” slab of choice cuts. Introspective and deep, yet not forgetting what a dancefloor wants.

Tom started making music in the mid-90s, inspired by the house and techno records he was buying as a teenager growing up in Cardiff. Co-founder of cult 90’s label, Headspace Recordings and sister label Emoticon; Tom and partner Raeph Powell were responsible for some faultless releases in the 00’s. More recently, Tom has been one half of The Nuclear Family; a production, label and events project launched with Laurence Hughes in 2013. Much of what Tom has put his hand to over the years has been hot in demand. Incredibly, this is his first physical, solo release under his real name since 2002. Despite the 20 year gap, Tom’s enthuse for all things deep and electronic has arguably never been stronger.

“These tracks have been heavily inspired by two things- reconnecting with my surroundings and rediscovering my record collection - both of which have been made possible by the events over the past couple of years.” Tom says. “As well as spending more time outdoors around my home on the west coast of Scotland, I recorded a lot of DJ mixes and radio shows during the first lockdown, which meant I spent a lot of time digging through older records. This reignited some creative energy that had been lying dormant for a while.

Before 2020 I’d been sporadically using a rented studio space to make music, but in that Spring I put together a basic, compact setup so I could work at home. My influences are pretty clear with these tracks - I’ve drawn on the palette of classic deep house, 90s techno and electro throughout - but while there are some retro elements and familiar sounds, I’ve tried to put my own twist on things. Being surrounded by nature and working exclusively on headphones has made for a more intimate sound, and these tracks are the most personal I’ve ever done.”

Percebes Música is a Lisbon based label that has steadily released physical and digital goodies for the better part of four years. This is Produto Interno Bruto (portuguese for “Gross Domestic Product”), one of the label’s most defining documents to date. An unbounded, eclectic and ambitious project that sounds and feels like a collaborative album that was compiled and mastered by label head Ka§par.

In the presented vinyl edition, it includes tracks from the two previously released volumes of the series and even adds some exclusive content. The compilation praises the music made by underground portuguese artists by contrasting it with that of a few solid international producers, close to the label’s inner circle.

The purchase of this double 12" vinyl allows for the digital download of both PIB I and II and a bonus EP. This makes the purchase attractive and the package valuable. It also allows the listener to know more artists than those featured on the vinyl that are no less deserving of praise. A must have, crafted with care and truth in mind.
