After playing ‚Lovestar’ to death, we reached out to see if Sébastien was still feeling in an emotional mood. We discovered quickly that, in fact, this is where his creative heart lives and breathes. 

The two tracks featured here were conjured up (in a daydream we like to believe) in time to play out at all the Summer All Day I Dream closing events in the USA, on Be@TV's coverage at the BPM festival and on our South American tour. Already loved, already "track ID'd, and all ready to create more magical moments.

The latest release from Tash’s Movement Recordings welcome Joan Retamero to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Rosario, Argentina, Joan made his production debut in November of 2013 with a contribution to Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeats 3 compilation. A string of successful releases on Clubsonica Records and Soundteller soon followed, putting Joan at the centre of all things groovy and progressive. Now making his Movement Recordings debut, Joan presents his latest EP entitled ‘Magnus’ alongside remixes from Magdalena and Solemn Eye.

Beginning with the title track ‘Magnus’, it’s evident Joan’s contemporary progressive style has reached a new level. A grinding underbelly provides waves of energy while clustered claps and fresh electronics adorn the framework. A tasteful vocal narrative elevates the mood once more as the track melts down into a cavernous break. Dramatic yet poignant it’s an esoteric shift in mood, perfectly setting up a classy drop. The companion piece ‘Between Two Souls’ strips the proceedings down a touch for a more techno inspired sensibility. Electric designs and shifty tones make for a moody journey before a twisted break ups tension for a rousing finale. 

The lone interpretation of ‘Magnus’ is provided by Magdalena who is making her Movement Recordings debut. Well known for being part of the Diynamic family for years, the German artist made her long awaited production debut in style, contributing ‘Should I Stay’ to the ‘10 Years Diynamic’ collection which was released in September of 2016. She has since gone on to remix Moby and appear on Mobilee and Stil Vor Talent. Now making her much anticipated Movement Recordings debut Magdalena takes ‘Magnus’ into deeper and equally exciting territory. On a backbone of warm beats and evolving tones comes a beautifully reprocessed rendition of the vocal. Sparse yet emotive, it’s mysterious nature leads to a dramatic break, gently teasing the senses before a creeping wall of white noise ignites the groove for a magic dance floor moment. 

The lone interpretation of ‘Between Two Souls’ is provided by Solemn Eye who is also making his label debut. The Belgian artist is best known for his releases on ‘Ethereal Techno’ label Steyoyoke and Pole Folder’s Reworck imprint. His Movement debut does not disappoint as he puts a softer yet equally powerful touch on ‘Between Two Souls’. It’s driving rhythmic core quickly becomes infectious as icy pads and astral designs fill in the percussive gaps. Concise and perfectly timed, the main break drifts further into cosmic territory, meditative at moments, before a smooth energy bridge transitions the piece into a spaced out finale. A lovely remix from Solemn Eye, rounding out what is a great Movement Recordings debut for all three artists on the release.

Rising out of Argentina’s electronic underground are the elusive duo Analog Jungs. Created by Claudio Cornejo and Gustavo Ruarte, Analog Jungs was born out of a love for rhythm, groove and melody. Taking inspiration from the likes of Cid Inc, Guy J and Henry Saiz, the Cordoba residents first emerged in 2015 with ‘Anubis’, a track co-produced with fellow countryman and progressive music star Antrim. Well received by fans and contemporaries alike, it set Analog Jungs on a course for aural enlightenment. World class DJs Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren quickly became the duo’s biggest supporters, showcasing their music at the world’s largest electronic festivals, such as Burning Man, Tomorrowland and Woodstock 69. Not only recognized within the progressive scene, electronic music maven John Digweed also took a liking to the duo’s work, featuring it on his hugely popular Transitions Radioshow alongside the likes of global stars Eelke Kleijn, Sasha and Yotto. The duo’s colourful, club friendly sound was further recognized by Nick Warren in 2019, when the much-loved DJ invited
the duo to work on a remix for his revered The Soundgarden imprint. A bond with Antrim was nurtured further as well, as the Argentine’s fast rising Or Two Strangers imprint became a comfortable home for the duo’s enigmatic work.
2021 proved to be a breakout year for Analog Jungs. On the strength of a remix for Israeli duo Golan Zocher & Choopie, Analog Jungs vaulted into the top ten progressive house artists on Beatport, a spot generally reserved for the genres most prolific artists such as Alex O’Rion, Cristoph, Kamilo Sanclemente and Stan Kolev. Impressive company to be in, and a true indication that the Cordoba duo has matured into sophisticated artists with depth and consistency.
Also beloved as DJs, Analog Jungs have long been recognized for their impeccable taste and exquisite programming skills. The duo continues to mesmerise club goers across their homeland, performing at sold out showcases at the countries premiere venues, while sharing the booth alongside top talents such as Guy J, Patrice Baumel, Blancah, Darin Epsilon, Khen, Marc Marzenit, Mariano Mellino and Mike Griego. The culmination of years of hard work and a keen dance floor vision
have taken Analog Jungs to new heights with each successive year, and now as the world continues to open back up the duo sit as one of those rare acts whose music caters to the mind, body and soul.
