o•rbyss aims to help soothe the queer spectrum and focus on the well-being of the community. Queer DJs are invited to submit a mix to showcase an alternative side to their music library outside of a rave and take us on a meditative journey. ✨

Notes on the mix:

"My o•rbyss Mix is a sort of mix which I always wanted to do but never had the chance to. It's been an opportunity for me to convey various non danceable tracks which I find emotive into a journey I find perfect for unwinding and feeling captivated in music. In a homage to the "chillout" dance music compilation CDs which I used to buy many years ago, I have included various ambient reworks of some of the most my favourite trance tracks of all time, they make for the most beautiful ambient compositions. I have of course also included ambient dreamscapes and bootlegs, drumless neo-trance, chuggy ethereal downtempo and even ambient gabbah!.... You can find tracks throughout from Pete Lazonby, Kavari, Croatian Amor, DJ Deepheat, Sinead O'Connor, djrum, Evian Christ and much more."

Dublin-born and now London-based DJ and Producer Mark Davis aka darkmavis has been lucky to experience a lifelong obsession with dance music. This obsession naturally led him to his artistic path he's been on for the past number of years. He can also be found curating his beloved platform 'Ethereal Skies', a forward-thinking label, party and platform dedicated to unearthing avant-garde, hard and euphoric dance music.

Much like the ethos of Ethereal Skies, darkmavis is heavily inspired by a range of oldskool sounds and scenes including gabber, trance and queer scenes coupled with more contemporary, futuristic and innovative sounding genres of music. darkmavis’ style is a construct of these juxtaposing eras and sounds, ranging from colourful trance to dark deconstructed club sounds, oldskool hardcore to ambient dreamscapes and everything in between.
