production notes:
This started out with a narrative I wrote for the track about a lone figure that awoke without memory in a cave that appeared to be sentient, and inhabited ravers entranced by strange relics. The usual psychedelic trope stuff. I recorded the vocals myself, and used them to inform the initial arrangement of the track. It became evident that the story would result in a evolving and winding musical expedition. However, my voice really didn't suit it. So I used elevenlabs to generate a new AI version of the vocals - that are used here. Later I stripped most of the vocals out, however the story they informed is now the song.

Each track I make offers new challenges.. here I really wanted to shift genres and sounds a lot. It sounds quite basic, but there's a lot going on here from a bassline that absolutely isn't traditional psytrance (although the base pattern is inspired by "Robotoised" by Quirk), to shifting from saw bass, to square wave, to switching the whole thing up in to a Brazil-inspired shponglised breakdown - considering I had no knowledge of this musical style, let alone how to produce it. However the real challenge was finishing this track. The arrangement has been 'complete' for months now with me tweaking and trying to polish it up enough to release it. 

I also decided to make this a multi-part song. Again, inspired by Shpongle albums where tracks eb and flow between each other. Part 2 of this isn't included here, but I hope I can make it become a full mixed album. Something for later.

Andreas Behr é o nome por trás do projeto Ananda Shanti. Nascido em Berlim/Alemanha, Andreas descobriu sua paixão pela música eletrônica aos 12 anos de idade e começou a produzir aos 13, naquela época ainda usando tecnologias de tracker como o Fast Tracker. Aos 17 já organizava festas em clubes locais de Berlim. Em 1994, ouviu uma faixa de Goa-Trance/Full on pela primeira vez, o que imediatamente moldou sua linha musical para as décadas seguintes.

Ananda Shanti já se apresentou em renomados festivais pela Europa como Ozora , SUN (Hungria), New Healing Festival (Alemanha), muitas Pvt’s e pequenos festivais em Berlim e nas Ilhas Canárias, na Espanha.
