Formed in North Carolina in 2013 by multi-instrumentalist/singer Stephen Warwick, Ancient Cities has been gaining ground from the start with their 60's/70's influenced psychedelic rock. They've independently released two albums; their self-titled debut in 2014 and sophomore follow-up Supermoon Blackout in 2016. Songs from those albums have been featured on Showtime's hit show Shameless and ABC's Imaginary Mary. In 2015, they were one of three bands chosen by Converse to play Newport Folk Festival and were featured in Vanity Fair and The Village Voice (NYC) that same year. Ancient Cities has toured up and down the east coast sharing the stage with Walk the Moon, The Naked and Famous, Dr. Dog, Seratones, and Houndmouth to name a few. They've recently released a cover of Tom Petty's song "Don't Come Around Here No More" featuring members of Seratones, with all proceeds going to Levine Children's Hospital in their home town of Charlotte. Bass player, Justin Fedor, also hosts a bi-annual benefit featuring local bands to raise money for the hospital. Ancient Cities is currently working on material for a third album with plans to tour starting in March 2018.
