Originally released back in 2010 as part of an Agoria mix compilation sampler Temperature's Rising has become a cult hit with vinyl copies now impossible to find for any price as the chance of a repress was held back by record company politics. Now, finally, it returns, remastered for 2016 and enjoying the clear cut and full side of vinyl it undoubtedly deserves.

On the B-side is the Temperate Dub, recorded at the same time as the lead mix, but which has remained unreleased until now. It takes a deep classic even deeper dubbing out syllables of the vocal over a reverberated version of the  now familiar half-time rhythm of the original mix.

Anyone who has experienced a Mark Broom techno session will know full well that as well as bean famous for deploying the harder persuasions of his adopted genre he also has a way to maintain an energy and vibrancy that can drive a room at any portion of a night. Even in the final hours when energy reserves are typically spent, he is pretty damn apt at locking in listeners to any dancefloor he has charge of. An integral part of the UK's techno story Broom began his journey in the early 90's inspired by the emerging sound of Chicago and Detroit, he then went onto lend his own take to the style going onto release across some of the world's most respected imprints, Mo'wax, Warp, R&S included, over the last two decades and becoming a firm part of his home land's pioneering scene. Earning the respect of those that first inspired him, Broom has also spent this year alongside Robert Hood as part of his 20 Years of M Plant tour - a compatriot he will be joining in Room Two this November. In anticipation of this huge Detroit - UK hook up Broom has recorded an exclusive promo mix to show us what he's filling his sets with at the moment the perfect anticipation builder for the night ahead...

Live techno from a New York sound scientist. 

Let's play a game. Put on a decent pair of headphones and listen to "Premonition," a techno track from New York artist Phil Moffa's recent EP for Plan B Recordings. Notice how each element feels like it's breathing freely in its own space? Now observe how the kick and the bassline sound perfectly in concert, as though they're one and the same thing. You might also feel like the track is hitting hard without shouting to be heard. Essentially what you're hearing is years of experience. For the past 15 years, Moffa has been slowly earning his stripes, buried away in studios, absorbing New York's dance floors, playing in hardware-based improv groups and, on one occasion, producing a dub and reggae artist. In 2010 he opened Butcha Sound studio on the site of a famous Manhattan recording space, and took on engineering work for club producers while working on his own music. (He's also an occasional music-tech writer for RA.) Through his friend Levon Vincent, Moffa met Anthony Parasole, and the pair ended up collaborating on Atlantic Avenue, the second release on Parasole's label, The Corner. Moffa went on to collaborate with DJ Spider, Paul Raffaele and, most recently, Seth Troxler, and he's put out a couple of solo EPs as well.

Moffa usually likes to keep his tracks simple (they hit harder this way) so he can focus on teasing out the warped synth lines and droning atmospherics he's so fond of. This what we get on RA.445, an hour-long live techno jam that feels like the arrival of a major new name.
