The third single from Ancient Channels, ‘Pangs’, is a heavy and immersive contribution to the dream pop landscape with pummeling drums, ethereal synths, stark reverberated guitars and dreamy delay- ridden vocals.

‘Pangs’ is a meditation on the ephemeral nature of time and the human feelings that are borne of uncertainty: confronting the unwavering and the unpredictable one discovers when looking within. In direct conflict with the plodding, lesser tempo of the song that serves as a crucial reminder that we are more than the sum of our thoughts.

Sup. I’m just someone who started this little project in 2022 under the name “project Lolita” now “stratovision” I do shoegaze/dream pop/post punk/indie rock music in my bedroom. So basically just a solo musician. 

I had a band in mind when making the solo project, but that never happened, so I decided I’m just gonna stick to being solo or whatever. My influences and inspirations range from sleep party people, joy division, my bloody valentine,  slowdive, swirlies and lsd & the search for god

Ancient Channels is a sonic expedition through the imagined past, present and future. The Meanjin (Brisbane) based post-punk band consists of Kelly Hanlon playing multiple instruments (Deafcult/Terra Pines) and Chris Preindl (Apparitions/Leavings/Vestiges) performing the drums and percussion which forms the heartbeat of the band’s sound. Ancient Channels draw from a myriad of influences including post-punk, dream pop, shoegaze and the sci-fi soundtracks of early film and television.
