Portugal ambient duo ZEN BABOOM presents the 4th edition of Sofa Beats Series.

Zen Baboon are Daniel Rosado and Henrique Palhavã. Both were born in the 70`s in Portugal and since an early age kept a close connection with the musical world, focusing on great sound quality and original construction. Daniel is a sound engineer that worked in a studio in Lisbon and started producing electronic music in the late 90′s. Henrique, a zoologist, lives and works in his own farm and started as an ambient DJ, ( ̈DJ Henriq ̈) and producer in 2001. They got together in 2003 and decided to melt their musical preferences and create Zen Baboon.

Takkra is the electronic music project of hungarian born visual artist, guitarist and producer David Vigh. Former member (2002-2008) of eletro rock outfit The Carbonfools, Founder and songwriter of internationally recognised prog-rock band Turbo (2005-), producer of various side projects like Gobi. Takkra’s unique style is characterised by David’s cinematic, textural guitar sound, natural atmospheres, etherial synths, psychedelic effects and soft grooves. These soundscapes were specifically designed to treat listeners with soothing, regenerating frequencies and healing energies. The first LP is called “Technicolor Talk”. It is released on 26/06/2016, exclusively premiered as a continuous mix on RadiOzora. https://soundcloud.com/radiozora The title is reference to the obvious psychedelic influences and the cinematic vibes that are carried out through the album. Although Takkra is considered as David’s personal project, there have been several artists collaborating on Technicolor Talk, such as Aurafood on synths, Dure on multiple instruments, Laura Anna and Manoya on vocals, Mate Kocsis on drums and Matyi Mohacsi on Bass. Mixing was done by David and Dure, mastered by Robert Elster aka Vibrasphere. David is also an award winning video director and art director for creative production company Global Illumination. GI has been responsible for main stage vision at Ozora since 2015 and performing VJs at festivals like Boom and S.U.N. The producer of Tetarise is Eugenii Dolgikh from Kursk, Russia. He has been composing electronic music in trance, progressive, chillout, psybient since 2003. Tetarise project has become well-loved among fans of psychedelic music. In 2013 it took part in A State of Mind, a popular trance music radio show. Tetarise became a resident of Microscosmos Records in 2018 and has released several successful albums and EPs.

Entrancing Bloom is a metaphoric story of a bud making its way from the ground to the Sun. The author conceptualizes the basics of sound design creatively by making brand new synth sounds on his own with a modular synthesizer. He uses his recorded samples of live percussions and guitar melodies which creates the very lively sound of the album tracks. The genres of the music are ranged from ambient, trip-hop to progressive chill, progressive trance.

Thank you to the medicine of the music, of the plants, and eachother. This is an ambient , space tripping , downtempo world music journey, including a few personal favourites and some newly collected world tunes. i hope you enjoy the selection.

Its been a while since the last mix. I have tried to make it several times since migrating overseas. Many genres wanted to be explored, and experimented with before I have settled on this piece. Alas something special was born to start the new year with. At the time of this recording, Im here in British Columbia and the winter stillness has beckoned me to enter this music space once again. The music here reflects my experience over the last few months, certain songs have impacted me in moments, and I wished to compile them all here for a 2 hour journey, replicating a recent journey we had with Huachuma the cactus here in the Rocky mountains, This experience ive tried to mirror here in this mix.
