I hope this piece will accompany you for every romantic moment in your life! Spending time with your other half is indeed the most beautiful and romantic moment. Of course, all couples certainly encounter unhappy moments like conflicts, contradictions, arguing etc. Sometimes, you suddenly find out that your other half actually has a bad temper that you never realized before. Actually everyone has his/her own personality weaknesses, maybe caused by his/her growing environment, the old wound in the heart long time ago. If you believe in reincarnation, some weaknesses may also be caused by the traces left from the suffering in previous lives over the past thousands of years. That’s why you sometimes find people really are too stubborn to change his/her characters. Anyway, these weaknesses just annoys you badly and losing the romance. So that’s why I have added the word “warm” before “romance”. That is to say, what your other half need is a “warm” heart. Try to give a warm heart which can embrace the heart of your beloved one. The warm heart includes qualities of understanding, forgiving, comforting, and tolerating – a compassionate warm heart even having the power to heal the wounds from the past thousand years of reincarnation. So your happiness and romance last long and never ends.

BACH: Prelude and Fugue 12 in F minor, BWV 857 (BOOK 1)

Following the death of my friend Mandy Morris in 2002, I was finding it difficult to compose, or do much else for that matter.  Towards the end of the year, I turned to one of my favorite composers – one who relished in writing music with a melancholy theme.  This was the renaissance composer John Dowland.  Using his music as inspiration, I filtered my own personal pain through his, and created a concerto of lamentations for alto flute and strings. Stylistically, I imagined the string orchestra as one giant consort of viols, and they are asked to mimic the play style and sound as closely as possible.

The first movement, inspired by Dowland’s Flow My Tears, is scored for strings only, and recalls the 5-part choral writing of that time. This movement serves as a kind of prelude.

Adding a lot of reverb and dark synth pads to this piece, making it sound a little bit like something out of Vangelis' Blade Runner soundtrack. I'm playing it too fast.

The instrument is a Nord Stage 2 using a sampled Steinway Model D grand piano, some virtual analog synthesizer, and an enormous amount of reverb.
