La musique de JUMO se caractérise par une dualité propre. Comme un paysage du Nord où la chaleur colorée d’une aurore boréale ferait l’amour avec le froid polaire des neiges éternelles, JUMO marrie la danse et le spleen dans un tourbillon de notes ravageur. Au hasard d’un titre on découvre une basse groovante sur un beat chaloupé et des notes de synthés aux mélodies lo-fi et mélancolique. Flume rôde, Siriusmo guette, Hudson Mohawke acquiesce. La musique de JUMO s’inscrit dans cette mouvance électronique à la fois tendance et contemporaine. Elle mélange les genres, brouille les pistes et magnifie l’audace grâce à une production léchée. 
Solitaire schizophrène traversant les rues sombres d’un Gotham City à la recherche du sens de la vie, JUMO se projette dans le réel et dans ses rêves et nous y ouvre ses multiples portes.

Throughout the EP, JUMO becomes a storyteller where each track acts as a chapter: the main character is hunted by a tortured personification of his unconscious, which results in an audio-visual experience, reflective of the intricate conflict of the two. Composed of 5 chapters, JUMO journeys through a fable exploring the duality of birth, temporality and consciousness. By depicting antagonistic voices for these themes, the producer transcends the apparent paradoxes to create a nuanced and imaginative world, where “Hylé” finds its purpose. The process for the EP’s music composition and narration began in October 2013 and lasted a year. Recorded in Paris, “Hylé” is the result of an introspective work using different medium such as music, videos and graphic designs. Consequently, the EP had the time to mature in JUMO’s mind and continues to do so with the interpretation of others.

It gives us the chance to highlight and welcome new faces alongside the residents who keep the Deep music we stand for alive. This year more than ever we have artists from all over the World, from Japan to Canada and Lithuania to Austria represented.

The man the myth...Mr. Nightcrawler himself is back with another masterpiece. True to his usual unique blend of many styles, Nachtbraker has delivered typically off-kilter “Cobi Cabani” with crashes and sound design that punctuate a freaky bass and rippling lead. Dropping in for his debut outing on our label, Viennese resident of Sass club and founder of the “Secret Crunch” imprint, Roman Rauch brings the filtered Disco House. Ripe with fruity percussion and deeply ingrained groove, “Sweet Ears” breathes and builds keeping up energy to work bodies throughout the cut. Close friend of the Dirt Crew family and member of Detroit Swindle’s Live super group, Lorenz Rhode is an extraordinary artist who’s not only active in the House Music scene but also created his own Big Band, the Rundfunk-Tanzorchester Ehrenfeld. He gets right to it in “On Top” a legit live key and bass jam with all the funk from a seasoned jazz musician.

From across the Atlantic we have Toronto’s Jesse Futerman teaming up with Dan Only, Jesse remixed Harry Wolfman’s last EP on DC and is known for his laid back house grooves. On “Changes” he wanders into coastal tinged Deep House territory. Subby toms amble alongside a gruff bass, while vocals echo in from the horizon. As usual we’re very happy to welcome back Leipzig’s finest, M.ono. Taking a solo moment from repping great Disco/House alongside Luvless on their label Rose Records. He’s produced “Jamas”, a rumbling, samba touched, hip moving jam with powerful horn stabs and jangly percussion bring a true street party feeling. The Icelandic wunderkind Felix Leifur is present once again after recently debuting on Frits Wentink’s label Bobby Donny. His artful mix of glitched lofi breaks, signature rhodes, dusty hip hop samples and scratched jazz cuts flex into outer- worldly extravaganza “Record”. Then what’s left to say about Mr. Mython? Continuously producing diamond after diamond we make sure to reach out regularly so we can catch a gem before the gifted musician erases them from his harddisk. Ponty’s latest, this super spacious disco sojourn “Who am i Kidding?” is classy, deep, sauntering and aloof. Great music from beginning to end!
