All We Had

Took me ages to work out how to get notes played on the arpeggiator function on the MIDI to write on Ableton, but I think I got there. Ten days left on my Ableton Live11 Trial. It's been a wild ride.

Raiders Of The Lost Arp

Just muckin about really. Found a nice muted trumpet on Komplete instruments, totally free, so I thought I'd try a riff over a sample from Wavegrind. There's just so much stuff out there. editing enables you to smash a bunch of keys and go back and correct the notes and the timing. At the end of the day, it's about finding your own natural rhythm.
I love to use Indian instruments, African bongos and the digeridoo. There's a certain pulse to it.

Watermelon Sugarush Grind

I made this song to accompany some footage from wireless Hill in Perth. 
I've ripped off a couple of licks from Jean Michelle Jarres Oxygen. still trying to get the hang of controls on my LaunchKey MIDI. Pretty happy to produce some convincing effects without using a proper synth.

Gallipoli

Slow mastering of the Launchkey MIDI. There's a fair bit going on. Select the right instruments for bass and rythmn sections. Mucking around with guitar on keyboards. Chose the Ironman drumkit which can be played on pads. There's a bit at the end of the track. Create seperate tracks and see if I can switch tracks and instruments using the MIDI controller. More of a jam than a song. Lucky this tech wasn't around when I was a kid or I would have never left my room.

The album begins at dawn in the Capertee Valley, NSW, with the melodious song of the Australian Magpie filling the misty morning air. 

Each track on this album features typical Australian birdsong from a different habitat of the Australian bush - open country, mallee, wet eucalypt forest, coastal forest, dry woodland and montane forest.
