One of the fastest rising underground stars of our generation, disco-house sensation Miguel Campbell makes a momentous come back on the Hot Creations imprint with two original tracks from his highly anticipated album with impressive remixes from Shadow Child and MAM.

Now one of the most sought after DJs and producers in the industry, it was Jamie

Jones and Lee Foss who first spotted the Leeds based Miguel Campbell and snapped him up with ‘Baby I Got It,’ which was released on the label in 2011. The release featured the astronomic ‘Something Special’, which became the biggest selling track on Beatport that year, now clocking over 4 million views on Youtube! Since then, Miguel has won a DJ Mag Best of British Award and has been releasing and remixing on other labels such as Wolf + Lamb and Outcross.

First up for this release, title track ‘Rockin’ Beats’ featuring Naroe on vocals is a funk fuelled odyssey , filled with spacey electronic madness and showcasing Campbell’s dexterous use of vocals adding extra dimensions as the vocoder Daft Punk style rapping rolls through the zappy synths and warm beats. Dirtybird favourite Shadow Dancer makes his first appearance on the imprint with his remix of ‘Rockin’ Beats’– bass-led and groovy with shuffling percussions, the track soon progresses into a perfect dose of nu-school house on a garage tip. The melodic keys and bouncing percussions are highly intoxicating and prove why the skillful producer has become a favourite amongst heavyweights including Eats Everything and Claude Von Stroke.

On the flip ‘Not That Kind Of Girl’ featuring Becks Lott on vocals, is reminiscent of the monumental ‘Something Special’, with a warm feminine touch, oozing with heaps of funk and groove and boasting crossover pop appeal. For the remix, Miguel teams up with Matt Hughes under their MAM moniker, taking it deeper and utilizing the grumbling undertones, with less focus on the vocal and more on the music.

If these are anything to go by Miguel’s forthcoming album ‘Back In Flight School’ is going to be a something to relish!!

Watergate have revealed details for a tenth anniversary box set, Watergate X.

The centerpiece of the package will be a slew of unmixed exclusive tracks on both vinyl and CD. There are 27 in all, from artists like dOP, Jesse Rose, Soul Clap & Baby Prince (AKA Gadi Mizrahi), Benoit & Sergio, Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts and Mike Shannon, plus a grip of Watergate's closest artists: Sebo K, Ruede Hagelstein, Tiefschwarz, M.A.N.D.Y., Lee Jones et al. All of these will be available on two CDs, with 12 of them also on three pieces of vinyl. On top of that, there will be a Watergate movie on DVD, a photo book "and some more goodies." After the success of ‘Shadows’ and a string of recognised remixes, the anonymous dj and producer Soul Button is ready to ‘Play Again’ with another tantalising release. This second helping of masterfully produced music comes with the same endearing heart that beats so strong within the work of Soul Button and with the purest and most surprising vocals that have become synonymous with the work of this talented artist. The EP features 3 alluring tracks each with their own unique and well crafted sound to help captivate feelings of uncertainty as we brace for the winter months to come.

The EP starts off with the pure and lucid sound of ‘The Keepers’. The unique vocals are a complement to the reflective nature of this swirling track and bring character to the emotional build up of the narrative. A flourishing synth reminiscent of late 90’s house music, is the backbone of this well crafted piece and elevates you to a state of muse.

Taking a more progressive stance on the next step is ‘Play Again’, a powerful addition to any set. Filled with grit and laced with sex appeal, the track is a reminder of Soul Button’s dark and yet playful style. Strong vocals stamp attitude into this venomous foot stomper. A devilish blend of percussion is tamed by a strong piano sample but still driven by an enduring bassline.

Closing the chapter on the EP is the haunting sounds of ‘Come To Me’, a deep and progressive track that hypnotises. This downtempo trip is a gripping tale of faith and fidelity in all things real. It is brought to life by rich enigmatic vocals and carried by a pulsing African rhythm that leaves you wanting more.

‘Play Again’ EP will see a vinyl release in December and a digital release will follow including a dub version of ‘Play Again’.

Brazilian duo Digitaria get set to ‘Shine’ even brighter with a highly anticipated second EP for the one and only Hot Creations. A potent mix of sweetly sensual vocals and dreamy electro pop with a kick for the floor, the ‘Shine’ EP is backed by a pair of exceptional remixes courtesy of cosmic icon Morgan Geist and on-point breakthrough artist of 2012, wAFF.

A-side ‘Shine’ instantly captivates with a wash of soaring synths that accentuate the warm glow of Daniela’s intoxicating voice. Lyrics forming the beating heart of the song along with the melodic bassline groove, this is a record destined to give the crowd that warm fuzzy feeling at a sunrise set. One of NYC’s finest Morgan Geist, aka Storm Queen and one half of Metro Area, bestows his genius in the first ‘Shine’ remix, introducing staccato synths, a pulsing bass beat and later an intense fusion of cosmic chimes, undulating rhythms and popping percussion.

B-side ‘Mystic Flow’ is a more late night affair, building layers of mystical voodoo over the low elastic bassline and punchy textured groove, the vocals imbued with a hypnotic snake charmer quality. Digitaria is the project formed by Daniela Caldellas and Daniel Albinati, on the sunny shores of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Seducing Latin America and beyond since

2004 with their blend of romantic electro pop, the duo met Jamie Jones one steamy night in 2012 at Warung nightclub and soon got the Hot Creations boss hooked on their sound. Tracks passed over soon after became the Digitaria/Funkyfat ‘Masochist EP’, a subsequent summer hit, and the rest is history. First release of 2013 was collaboration with the Adana Twins ‘Reaction’ on Jeudi Records, and the Hot Creations ‘Shine EP’ is sure to further mark the duo as a global force of nature.

Miguel Campbell & Matt Hughes, Outcross Records, returns with Miguel Puente’s ‘From The Moment’ this June, comprising four original cuts from the Mexican producer.

Miguel Puente, over the past few years, has been steadily building a highly praised reputation for his dropped tempo workouts, many of which have found their way onto reputable imprints such as No.19 Music, OFF, Diynamic and Hot Waves, a striking indication of the sheer quality and current appeal in his work.

The EP kicks off with ‘Only You’ first, embracing Puente’s modern disco aesthetic with simplistic, organic drums, swirling resonant synthesizers and evolving saw wave tones. Puente then samples a variety of vocal snippets to build their own melody and carry the groove, while subtle nuances in the synth elements meander around them. Up next is ‘Keep On’ taking on a similar format, with vocal snippets, disco drums and gritty low-end tones. Things again slowly bloom in such a state with sweeping, filtered vocals creating a flourishing dynamic, while additional sub hits and bright synth hooks fuel the weight.

Entering the B-Side of the EP we have ‘From The Moment’, edging things on a darker tip with a penetrating bass hook, eerie synth stabs and subtle tinges of garage, resulting in a contemporary heavy hitter. Lastly, closing the release, ‘Be No Good’ is offered up, a perfect way to wind down the release, this time opting for a more retro infused feel with blossoming, psychedelic pads, dubbed-out vocal lines and low-slung, crunchy drums.
