BUTY – THE SONIC ALCHEMIST OF FORMENTERA
From the heart of the Mediterranean, BUTY has forged a career that has taken him to the top of electronic music. Born in Ibiza in 1976, BUTY has been a key figure in the evolution of deep house, melodic techno, and afro-house. His passion for music began at an early age and materialized into a career spanning over 30 years, with a prolific trajectory both as a DJ and music producer.
Based in Formentera, his style has been shaped by the sounds and vibrations of the Mediterranean. Over the course of his career, BUTY has worked with the most relevant record labels in the electronic scene, including Moonlife Records and many others. His innovative productions reflect his ability to blend genres and styles, creating unique sonic experiences.
A GLOBAL JOURNEY THROUGH MUSIC
Throughout his career, BUTY has taken his music to the farthest corners of the planet, performing in countries such as Italy, England, France, Germany, Spain, Australia, and Colombia, among others. His name has resonated in some of the most iconic clubs in the world, from Pacha, Privilege, Amnesia, to Space in Ibiza. He has been a resident DJ at multiple clubs, including Privilege Ibiza and Tipic Formentera, and has shared the stage with legends like Bob Sinclair, Satoshi Tomiie, José Padilla, Kenny Carpenter, Ted Patterson, Frankie Knuckles, Little Louie Vega, David Morales, and many others.
His career has also taken him to Sydney (Australia), where he resided between 2010 and 2012, and to London, where he lived between 2019 and 2020, collaborating with several local artists and producers.
A GLOBAL CONNECTOR
Over the years, BUTY has actively collaborated with key figures in the electronic music scene, including Lenny Ibizarre and the Can Chill studios, with whom he has worked for over a decade, contributing his creative vision to various productions. He has also maintained a constant collaboration with David Moreno, with whom he has worked since his early days in the industry. On the technical side, he has collaborated with Soundfarm Studio in Ibiza, working alongside Tecnica, which solidified his knowledge in sound production and engineering.
PRESENT AND FUTURE
Currently, BUTY is one of the resident DJs of the Ibiza Dance Radio Show on Pure Ibiza Radio, where his sound reaches thousands of listeners every week. He also leads his own takeover, "Ibiza Dance Takeover by Buty," a space where he explores his deeper musical vision and connects intimately with his audience.
In addition, he has released new tracks that reflect the evolution of his sound, such as "Hafro", "TO MATE", and "X Men A", which are available on platforms like Spotify, Beatport, and SoundCloud. These tracks highlight his ability to experiment with different styles, blending the best of deep house, melodic techno, and afro-house sounds.

I produce mostly trance - mainly classic old school, with the odd more general EDM track and a touch of psy here and there. I am a musician and composer so my production style centres around creating the parts as opposed to using samples. I am also not a bad lead guitarist, but as of yet there is zero guitar on any of the tracks here! I am up for collaboration, especially from vocalists and experimental projects - just drop me a message!
