Faelight

The title comes from Oppenheimer’s “Destroyer of Worlds”  not in the sense of a weapon, but in the sense of carrying unbearable power and memory. If Never Was is the Devil’s memory of the protagonist: heavy, suffocating, and broken,  then Human Too is his own reflection.

This track was composed as a bridge between The One Who Watched from the Fire and the next book, While No One Watched. It carries anger, betrayal, and bitterness, but reframes them with a human edge,an attempt to make peace with the fact that survival is not about being untouchable, only about being human.

The music itself mirrors that tension:

Deep, resonant low brass hits pulse through the piece, anchoring the anger in something vast and heavy.A mournful chorus rises around it, reframing the fury into something closer to resilience.
Violins emerge in hard, aching solos, callbacks to A Dance with the Devil, reminders that his influence is still present in the bloodstream.
Even the hiss of a snake curls into the mix, subtle but undeniable, a symbol of the Devil watching from the shadows. At one point, the rhythm takes on a dance-like progression  deceptively light, almost celebratory before the weight returns to remind us that freedom is not so easily won.

Human Too isn’t about triumph. It’s about standing in the middle of light and dark, holding both at once, and admitting: I am not more than this. I am only human  and still here.
