Mvt 3 of Piano Trio Op.11. Transcribed for2 pianos by VViljanen Jan20, 2025. 
A reading into a sequence for original trio setup, generated by H Fesefeldt ca.2010's, was used as source material, for this transcription, after its re-reading, about its articulations, dynamics, tempos etc by VV. 
A pair of Petrof Mistral 284 modeled grands revoiced & reconfigured by VV were used on its recording, the setup of which also was set by VV.
Any kind of commercial use of this track is prohibited.

About the original work:
The Piano Trio in B-flat major, Op. 11, was composed by Ludwig van Beethoven in 1797 and published in Vienna the next year. It is one of a series of early chamber works, many involving woodwind instruments because of their popularity and novelty at the time. The trio is scored for piano, clarinet (or violin), and cello (sometimes replaced by bassoon). The key of B-flat major was probably chosen to facilitate fast passages in the B-flat clarinet, which had not yet benefited from the development of modern key systems (such as the Albert system or Boehm system). Beethoven dedicated this piano trio to Countess Maria Wilhelmine von Thun.

The work is also sometimes known by the nickname "Gassenhauer Trio". This arose from its third movement which contains nine variations on a theme from the then popular dramma giocoso L'amor marinaro ossia Il corsaro (15 October 1797, Wiener Hoftheater) by Joseph Weigl. This particular melody, "Pria ch'io l'impegno" ("Before I go to work"), was so popular it could be heard in many of Vienna's lanes ("Gasse" in German). A "Gassenhauer" usually denotes a (normally simple) tune that many people (in the Gassen) have taken up and sing or whistle for themselves, the tune as such having become rather independent from its compositional origins. A rare word in contemporary German, rough modern equivalents of the term include "hit" (success) or "schlager". Other composers who used this melody include Joseph von Eybler, Johann Nepomuk Hummel and Niccolò Paganini.

Because of its unique scoring in Beethoven's output, there is some uncertainty as to whether to include it in the ordinal numbering of Beethoven's piano trios. Some assign it "No. 4" between the Op. 1 and Op. 70 sets while others leave the work out of the numbering.

A pair of Bösendorfer 280 modeled grands, revoiced & reconfigured by VV were used on its recording. A reading into a sequence generated by HFesefeldt*, was used as source material after having reviewed, and rewritten  on its articulations, dynamics, tempos etc by VV.
*Harm Fesefeldt (1942-2019) was a German nuclear physics researcher & music software developer, who read & generated the nost part od essential classical chamber music into sequences with his own music software, and also made these publicly available.

Hello everybody. I  am Andrej Zatkalík from Bratislava, Slovakia.

My first musical steps  began in childhood  at the age of 8, when I started playing the piano. I learnt at the local musical school for the next seven years. From that time on, my greatest passion has been piano improvising.  It’s like an open-ended adventure to put your fingers on the piano keys and let your soul speak with the universal language of music!

I often play around with simple musical motifs, adding changes and variations to them. That way I create my improvisations.

Sometimes I record myself playing, and by listening back I can find some interesting melodies or chord progressions, which I don’t remember playing. My music is mostly unplanned, and the majority of my piano pieces I have created during one evening, which is why I often use the word “evening“ or “night“ in title name.

Beside piano improvisations I have also recorded  some piano covers and some orchestral compositions. My main musical influences include classical music, especially the music of J.S. Bach, but I also like modern music.

Since two years ago I have been uploading  my improvisations and other pieces to Soundcloud and joined The Piano Cloud community. Two of my tracks have been reviewed on this site:

In future I would like – beside my main focus, which is the piano – to try some more orchestral music compositions.
