Biography: 
Alexander's life story began in Kaliningrad, where he grew up in a family of professional musicians, which left an indelible imprint on him. Whatever he was fond of as a teenager, it all ultimately came down to music: classes at a music school in accordion and piano, later contrabass, as well as DJing on two-cassette tape recorders and the first home mixes on cassettes :)

Since 2006, Alexander has established himself in the music industry, making it not only a part of his life, but also a profession: producing pop music arrangements for artists in Belarus and Russia. However, he draws a clear dividing line between work and creativity. Speaking of music and personality, one can be convinced that these are inextricably linked entities. Alexander develops thanks to music and music develops thanks to Alexander. The sound palette, which he collects from different parts of his soul, is designed to convey love and peace through the prism of the facets of dub techno.

Biography: 
Mike Bentley is a DJ and producer from Littlehampton on the south coast of England. With a history in the progressive house scene, Mike started producing deep and dub techno alongside his progressive work in 2024 and has released on labels including [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB], Ubertrend Records, Superordinate Dub Waves, Techenie and has forthcoming releases on Crossfade Sounds and ECOUL SND. He also co-founded the Critical Elements podcast and label in 2023 which focuses on the deeper side of progressive house and techno. As well as providing guest mixes for podcasts and radio shows he also plays regular live gigs at clubs in London including Union and Basing House.

Biography: 
Aritomi, real name Eric Banquier. He has started his musical activities as a FM radio DJ in the mid 90's, on a French local radio. The electronic music project Aritomi began when the radio had to close down in the late 90's. Initially, it was a simple experiment with sounds made on a very limited equipment. The style has evolved over the years, from House and Techno at the beginning, to a more minimal blend of Deep, Ambient and Dub Techno, but still quite melodic. Living in Japan since 2000, Aritomi has performed DJ sets at "Echo Chamber" events, Dub Techno parties organised by Tsubasa Arakawa and released music on Zero Signal Records, hello▼strange, Solar Phenomena, Slope Point and [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB].

This song is made entirely out of samples from the kitchen, I used the fridge door, a clock, a coffee grinder and a sodastream machine.

Day three of Ableton #LoopAtHome and today's challenge is basically to recreate the sound of a fridge (or freezer in my case), sample some items from the kitchen and create a new track from it. And this is the result. 

For the freezer noise, I did my best approximation by humming at the same pitch. This was the same sound I used for the glassy melodic parts, although modified significantly through FX and filters. 

The percussion comes from a beer glass, followed by the sound of a beer can being opened. (I was getting thirsty!)

Once I had the basic fridge noise and rhythm, I added the three interweaving melody lines. They are actually, more or less the same part, just played at three different tempos and three octaves apart. Even if I do say so myself, the finished track gave me goosebumps.

What a fun weekend of experimentation!

Out From The Cold

Submitted as part of #LoopAtHome challenge by Ableton. I used my voice as a fridge noise replica and made the drums from the fridge opening noises. The rest of the sounds used in the track are made from a drain protector, water splashes and a glass.
