It’s been a while since my last mix, but better late than never! This time, I start off slow with some ambient and electronica gems from artists like Soela, Luis León, Unseener, and Knopha. As the mix progresses, the energy builds with deeper house grooves from producers such as Kora (CA), Wuachuma, and Lis Sarroca, before diving into the sounds of legends like Sebastian Mullaert, Acid Pauli, Viken Arman, and Bushwacka.

In the middle and second half, things take a harder turn with heavier breakbeats and (melodic) techno from artists like Madben and Radio Slave. This mix captures the essence of an all-night set, condensed into a compact 4-hour journey featuring some of my favorite tracks from 2024.

What a transcendent night this was! So much connection, so much love, so much courage, so much power. We had such vibrant community tonight in the tiny little town of Cobourg, and I feel so very blessed to have been here, at this moment in time, with this group of people...to have had the privilege of curating a journey for them for the collective creation of a sacred, permissive space. I had designed this dance with the intention to make room for the courage to feel ALL the feelings of what is happening in our world and in our lives. My heartfelt gratitude to all who were present or present in spirit.

"The Courage to Feel." Live at Ecstatic Dance Cobourg, Jan 17 2025

With the chatter of the art in the openening/warmup set being lost on the new generation, I thought I would put something gentle together. While this isn't exactly a dance floor opener, it does start to build just a bit as if it were. A softer, floaty mix of lovely tracks. Inspired by the rock solid YokoO, Kora and Satya records, the goal was a soft and consistent feel. Great for mornings, or really late nights.

The Odd Orchestra has once again landed and they’ve brought stories from their time in the sky. This odd group of three soars beyond previous explorations.

Free floating in a blend of techno, dub, jazz and rock they song-write their way through a landscape that is truly their own. Perhaps even more than the critically acclaimed albums released on Get Physical a decade ago, they now expose the rough edges, rendering themselves naked, perhaps even egoless.

Please give a warm embrace to the intoxicating voice of Raz Ohara, the Belgian bohemian Oliver Doerell and guitarist/musical “akurat” Tom Krimi as “The Odd Orchestra”, and dwell into this bundle of delicate electronic tristesse.

In addition to the originals, there’s three remixes included. AMyn takes on Driftwood in his very own r&b manner. The addition of chords and extra melodies shows how the song holds its own in different genres.

Hölle gets an revamp by Berlin locals TRU and Moodfamily’s Beazar. Both approaches are similar, both trying to strip the original song to the bone. Where Beazar distills a pertinent groove in the remix, TRU delivers an excellent bonedry beatless version of Hölle, oozing with drama and terrific contrasts.
