In 2020, I presented W.E. (Bill) Bartolotto with a trilogy of incomplete songs asking if he would be interested in helping me finish them.   Bill was quite enthusiastic and so we began the process of collaboration which I am sure most Soundclouders are familiar with.   2 years later we have managed to come up with this track..
	The concept is based on Jack Vance's 1963 novel “The Eyes of the Overworld” and is, more or less, a discussion, partly of the nature of reality, and partly, of the reality of human nature.
	While the concept and music is mine, the lyrics are the combined effort of the two of us.

Part 1:   Smolod Town
	where shall the overworld be found
	where shall all our dreams and promises touch ground
	even in our most wistful hour
	it is not wise to underestimate the power
	of gods that strive to be alive

	in Smolod town where marsh and tundra mix
	the huts are birds’ nests made of mud and sticks
	yet the folk walk proud, heads high, voices loud
	in Smolod town

	the village is the abode of squalid gnomes
	as unlovely, graceless as their homes
	yet fixed upon their eyes violet cusps disguise
	their poverty

	the vile stench of filth is everywhere
	it permeates the dark and clammy air
	yet the gnomes know not these spoils
	they conduct themselves as royals
	in Smolod town

 	
Part 2:   The Prince
	when the old one dies
		I shall wear the eyes of the overworld
	I’ll become a king
		I’ll have everything in the overworld
	on lotus fruit I’ll dine
		and drink the nectar wine of the overworld
	I’ll live just as I please in luxury and ease
		staring through the eyes of the overworld

	the lenses do not blind
		they project the mind to the overworld
	though my life’s been poor
		my senses know the lure of the overworld
	exquisitely divine, 
		all pleasures shall be mine in the overworld
	the quintessential scheme of paradise I’ll dream
		staring through the eyes of the overworld

	I’ve worked the barren soil,
		for fourty years I’ve toiled in the normal world
	thus I’ve earned the right
		to taste all the delights of the overworld
	I want to die like this:
		by surfeit of bliss in the overworld
	a prince ‘mongst princely peers to spend my final years

Fender pedal board: Line 6 delay; Fender clean boost
Mics: a pair of Royer r10 ribbons for guitar

Mixer: API 24 channel summing mixer (8200/7800)
Stereo Bus processing (API EQ and API compressor)
Final mix down to a MARA MCI JH110 1/4inch 2-track at 15 ips using ATR Master Tape.

Little Pleasure_2 - Remastered

First song I am posting in 2024!

This is what I wrote in 2013 when I first thought about posting Nothing But (The Sound) but decided to take it down from the cloud short after. 

"Nothing But (The Sound)" is Plastic Inevitable's first song since 2011! Plastic Inevitable is Marty Procaccio, AKA Blankets, working the sound and Sneekie San Salvador tweaking the sound. The recording for this song began in 2011 in the bedroom recording studio of Marty in Santa Clara California using GarageBand and a whole bunch of pedals. The song was completed in 2013 with vocals recorded in Sneekie San Salvador's mobile Toyota recording unit.

Now it is 11 years later...

I am amazed that I found the vocal stems. I had to look though an old hard drive to find them. I did not feel like digging through more old hard drives for the original track stems. Big thanks to Russell for taking the time to mix the vocals and master the track. I told Russell, when I mixed the original instrumental I was listening to a lot of shitgaze bands at the time. 

May you find many gems when you dig into your past.

Once settled in Artica Point, almost frozen, I watch the world happening fast, and I tell you about by singing five verses with different vocal styles, a main instrumental theme in progress all along, and some bits of the other songs in the album to keep it conceptual ;)

Hello Soundcloud, thanks for the Listens, Likes and Support. Im from Melbourne Australia, I have been playing guitar for many years now and played in two bands during the 80's & 90's (STOLEN CAR original) & (STORM cover),both bands never released any material. Since 2010 i have been writing songs and tunes and recording them in my music room (3rd Bedroom), i play Guitar, Bass, Keys, BFD2 Drums(programmed)and Vocals on all of my songs which i class as Demo's, I love all types of music but Hard Rock, Rock to Alternative appeals to me most.
