I'd Be Surprisingly Good For You

"Tokens and Truths," the first album by Andrew & the Bird, is a monument to the lies we tell ourselves and the toll of telling the truth. It reckons with the, oftentimes, agony of love and self-acceptance, the ways in which we hurt others and ourselves in the act of self-preservation, unaware that self-preservation can become self-destruction. But only if we remain in the dark, continue flitting in cages of our own making. Ultimately, as the first track echoes, there is a train of truth, and regardless of whether or not to remain on it, there is always a toll.
