Andy Moor and Adam White combine forces under their Whiteroom moniker to re-release their classic collaboration ‘The Whiteroom’ on Anjunabeats.

‘The Whiteroom’ was originally released in 2004 via the trance label Liquid Asset. It’s one of Above & Beyond’s favourite records - it was debuted on episode three of Trance Around The World, and it was included in A&B’s 2004 BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, which won Essential Mix Of The Year. More recently, it was played live by Above & Beyond for the first time in years in their set for Dreamstate Festival, 2019.

A celebrated name in trance music, Andy Moor runs AVA Recordings, and was GRAMMY-nominated for ‘Best Remixed Recording’ in 2007. His connection with Anjunabeats dates back to 2005 when he collaborated with Above & Beyond on ‘Air For Life’. A year later, the track landed on Above & Beyond’s debut studio album, ‘Tri-State’, which recently celebrated its fifteenth birthday. 

The other half of ‘Whiteroom’ is fellow UK-based DJ and producer Adam White. Adam was one of the first Guest Mixers on Above & Beyond’s Trance Around The World and has released on many classic trance labels including Darren Tate’s Mondo Records, Perfecto Records and Platipus Euro. Aside from making music, Adam has also worked as a label manager and A&R consultant for several labels.

Songwriting takes centre stage on ‘Impulse’, his second studio album. ‘Stranger To Your Love’ showcases this emphatically, reuniting ilan with Ellen Smith. Frequently supported by BBC Introducing through her band Shadowlark, Ellen featured on ‘Scars’ album favourite ‘Rival’ and provides two contributions to ‘Impulse’. 

Inspired by his love of uplifting trance records, ilan founded the Stoneblue alias in 2019. Teased online through his ‘anthem tests’, Stoneblue tracks found their way into ilan’s sets at Group Therapy 350, Dreamstate and ASOT950. We’re thrilled to welcome Ilan’s Stoneblue project to the label.

The Italian duo Devoteex put together four original and powerful tracks to create the 'Narcotism EP', eleventh release of Black Rose Recordings. The EP starts off with 'Balena', characterized by deep melodic progressions of resonant pads and drums that grow up to the drop. Here the song explode and is highlighted by a beautifully evolving synth line throughout. Next is the track 'Proximus'. a beautiful combination of industrial sounds, strong melodies and hypnotic drums. It takes you on a journey and keeps your ear hooked. The third piece of music is 'Green Hornet' and is probably the toughest track on the EP. The strong rhythm part of the track is combined with a deep and dark sound design and the overall result is a very pulsating piece. Rounding out the EP is Devoteex's latest original offering, 'Esperanza'. Rhythmically lively, the track is the perfect balance of fiery percussion and kaleidoscopic synths. The heavy baseline pulls the track together and puts an appropriate and emotional conclusion to the EP.

Wow, hadn't realised what a journey SoundCloud would take me on.  After many years of passive listening to music I've dieted on a variety of tastes. My appetite for new sounds is undiminished and SC provides plenty of food. I am not a musician and have only recently started to listen positively to the sounds. My early years began listening to music from ABC, The Beatles, The Carpenters Dire Straits Eagles Fleetwood Mac Genesis Elton John Led Zeppelin Gilbert O'Sullivan Rod Stewart Supertramp Tangerine Dream Vangelis The Who and many more.
