It's not what you think. Not submarines but sub-editors, the engine of the newsroom in the mainstream print media. I should no, declaring an interest here. The media gets a lot of stick and might get a lot more if there were none of these chubby checkers who are often the last line of defence. If people want a more diverse media, then what is to stop them setting up their own media enterprise. Ofcourse it would have to make money under the present mercantile system...
