I composed this one in honor of the great John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie. I call it "The Dazzling Dizzy". I wrote this arrangement for the Interlochen Summer Jazz Faculty Septet in 2010. The trumpet and alto saxophone play the playful, humorous, and Dizzy-influenced melody.

I arranged a counter-melody for the tenor sax and trombone. You'll hear the interplay of the melody and counter-melody recorded much more clearly on the out chorus which begins at the 10:28 mark.
