circus - [ Torus ]

DJing since 2004, Tokyo-based circus was originally interested in drum and bass music, but the tighter loop-based quality found in techno quickly changed his focus. Layering tracks containing elements of acid, minimalism, and industrial noise, circus creates epic soundscapes leading his listeners into unexplored areas.

Playing alongside international techno DJs such as Dino Sabatini, Neel (of Voices From The Lake), and Donor, just to name a few, circus has become a regular at nightclubs and festivals in and around Japan. He has been featured on live-stream broadcast, Dommune, and played Future Terror and Rural Festival. You can find him as resident DJ at the event P.O.T at Saloon Tokyo in Daikanyama.

2004年にDrum’n’BassのDJとしてキャリアをスタート。その後、ダンスミュージックの高揚をループの中に見出しTechnoへ転向。

厳選されたトラックで編成されるDJは、インダストリアル・ミニマル・アシッドを内包した硬質なグルーヴを基調とし、絶えず密度を変化させながら世界観を構築してく。

SOLISTA@LIQUID LOFT、FANG@AIRのレジテントを経て、現在はDJのサウンドに重点を置き最小限のマテリアルでパーティーを構成する“torus”と、派生イベント“p.o.t”を主宰する。
