Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child - That Lonesome Road

The great John Muri playing a very "John Muri" kind of song, from the musical "110 in the shade" a musical version of "the Rainmaker"  with a score by Jones and Schmidt, the team that wrote "the Fantasticks"  This music was only 7 years old at the time this was recorded. Muri was an artist who continually grew, and sought out the best new music from theatre and film.  The style 235 Wurlitzer in the Highland Park MI (Detroit) six mile uptown theatre was the perfect instrument for John, and they fit each other perfectly.

Theatre organ playing at it best - Lew Williams performs at the Wurlitzer at Organ Stop, Phoenix Arizona. 

Wade Bray, the recording engineer, captured one of the best recordings I've ever heard of a theatre organ, and transfer to disk is great quality.  This copy was professionally cleaned to remove the pressing solution that is often left behind in the grooves. The result is a full bass range that wasn't there before.
