For the second podcast on Dreamchannel we are delighted to have one of our hometowns icons in the mix. Deeply embedded in the local music scene and stringing far beyond with regular international gigs, the founding member of the appraised Somatic Rituals label is known for a variety of clubsounds; from driving subwater grooves and introspective rhythmic excursions all the way to trap-infused hitters for the booty-oriented dancers. His diversity in skill and taste of music has provided the soundtrack for many funky nights and will do so for many nights to come.
Today the chef is cooking outside of his usual terrain, stirring together deep bass waves with sad pop lyrics and r'n'b soulcuddles, spiced up by sneaky hyperpop landscape flavours. In a truely colorfull blend of different stages of intensity and switching paces he is driving the train back and forths between Y2K aesthetics and the future beyond tomorrow.
Feels like jumping right into a wave on a hot summer day.

The Forgotten XLVIII: Modvs

Balans welcomes back Swedish-born Staffan Linzatti for his second release on the Dutch imprint with Dividing in Two, an energetic two-track EP keeping consistent with the labels vision of delivering classic techno rhythms. ‘Dizziness’ opens the EP with a hypnotizing yet airy signal that captivates upon overture. Combined with a rolling bass and quintessential claps it is sure to enchant any listener. On side B, ‘Clarity’ takes a whole new direction opening straight into a full-blown kick and high hats that persist throughout the track.
A perfect follow up to 'View From The Collapsing Centre EP' (BALANS011) released back in 2013.

At 16 years old he discovered his love of electronic music, house music. After 4 years of hard training and dedication Ricardo Manuel Vieira Araújo (Dj WD), he felt ready to face the public.  In 2010 he entered a contest in the Goldeneye club, and that was his first time to play an outdoor event.  Since then he has been playing in bars and nightclubs in his native land. In June 2011 he got his first residence in Terrace Luxus. In 2012 he booked his first international gig in Norway.  and Many gigs followed in Portugal and Sweden. In 2012 he started production and live performing. After 2 years, his remix,  “Sun goes Down" entered the Top 3 in the dance charts of Portugal. He continues to work in production and live performance. He has releases out on Vortex, IIisho Recordings, Electrified Mindz and Small Records.
