ATOM (Alisa Oleva and Timothy Maxymenko) is inviting you to join a Far Away Dance - to dance together at a safe distance outdoors in Hackney Marshes to a live set based on the sounds of the location by musician Andrey Kiritchenko (director of Next Sound) who is situated in Kyiv, Ukraine. 
 
We take pandemic restrictions as generative of new choreographies and ways of listening together. We are offering a situation for people to be together safely in the darkness of the evening, keeping each other in sight but at a far distance, dancing amongst the silhouettes, listening and being surrounded by the sounds of the location at the same time. 

ATOM has commissioned Andrey Kiritchenko in Kyiv to do a live performance based on field recordings collected from the site of Hackney Marshes. You will be able to safely share the space together, dancing or just listening to the live set created specially for the event from the everyday sounds and noises of the place you are in.

Enough Heaven

This is an excerpt of my work for Italian project called Stazione Confini. This project is dedicated to railway stations, borders, travels, departures, arrivals and meeting of cultures. My piece supposed to be a soundtrack for a story by Italian writer Anna Dazzan and happened to be my musical reflection on theme of refugees, the people who were forced to leave their homes looking for a shelter abroad. This piece was created during the second month of war in Ukraine.

I started working on these tracks three years ago. The idea was to create a remote performance based on field recordings made in Hackney Marshes. It was not just a site-specific performance but, most importantly, an opportunity to come together and share a listening experience during pandemic restrictions. It became very clear how essential it is for people to have shared experiences of music and how quickly we can lose what we take for granted.
As this project evolved over time, it became evident that in places like Hackney Marshes, you cannot entirely separate yourself from the sounds of the city and listen solely to the noises of nature. Ultimately, you find yourself immersed in the orchestra of life and its diverse sonic manifestations.

Робота "Під напругою" Тимофія Максименко являє собою серію партисипативних аудіо-перформансів, які протягом дії виставки відбуватимуться у дворах та арках різних районів Києва. У співпраці з чотирма українськими електронними музикантами, художник створюватиме серію партисипативних аудіо-перформансів. Саунд-імпровізації базуватимуться на звуках шумів електричних щитків, витяжок та каналізації. Цією роботою художник пропонує глядачеві уповільнитися та звернути увагу на місто як на живий організм, спробувати відчути його напругу та ритми, а також показати місто як простір для взаємодії, що об’єднує різні ком’юніті.

Andrey Kiritchenko is a person known among experimental music fans as author and contributor of various critically acclaimed projects, founder of Nexsound records, director of NextSound festival, producer who has contributed his significant share into the development of electronic music scene in Ukraine.

Born in 1976 in Kharkiv / Ukraine and started his musical career in 1995 as a singer / song-writer in a local rock band. Being involved mostly in experimental electronic and electroacoustic music for the last 10 years, Andrey gains recognition among the musicians and followers of this style all over the world. His recent activities range from indie-pop to free-improvisation, from melodic electroacoustic music to experimental techno.

So far he collaborated with Francisco Lopez, Kim Cascone, Martin Brandlmayr(Radian, Trapist), Anla Courtis, Jason Kahn, Jeff Surak, Saralunden, the Moglass and others; remixed by Andreas Tilliander/Mokira, Frank Bretschneider, Mikael Stavostrand, Frans de Waard/GOEM, Brian Lavelle, Scanner, Marcus Maeder and others; under all aliases he released more than 50 albums on labels such as Staalplaat, SPEKK, Ad Noiseam, Nexsound, Zeromoon, Bip-Hop, Neo Ouija, etc.; in 2006 nominated by Qwartz Electronic Music Awards in categories Discovery and Most Promising Artist, awarded in category Discovery; in 2006-2007 curates Detali Zvuku international festival for experimental music and related visual arts in Kiev; in 2007 participates in Ukrainian exhibition on the 52th Venice Biennale; in 2008-2009 curates Ukrainian magazine for contemporary music – Gurkit.
