Here's my set from Wednesday night at Burning Man 2023 in Camp Wrongtown! I had a ton of fun playing to all who were there… big love to you, thanks for dancing with me 🔥🪩

This mix comes from my heart, and is a reflection of my journey so far listening to, collecting, and playing music. Massive shoutout to all the incredible musicians out there producing amazing music over and over again. You make it all happen, and keep us dancing and grooving.

It was Friday evening and it had already been raining for hours. The mud had arrived and we were knee deep in it. But it didn't stop our asses from dancing ✊😎. No Mud, NO LOTUS!!!! 💩🪷

Warning that the audio here is pretty rough. Something went wrong with the REC out on the mixer during the set because when I listened to the output in headphones it sounded fine.

We have a secondary backup recording that hopefully sounds fine, but I won't have access to that for some time. In the meantime I couldn't resist but post this so y'all could relive this moment sooner than later. 

Also super happy that I got to play my own produced track during this set. KICK DRUM by Bobby Lyte (the second track) has been out for a while, but I finally got to play it live on the playa this year 🙌🏽.

Here is a mix that took form as a journey through the playa into a white out dust storm. The rocketship art car I was DJing on had to stop and people on their own journeys made way to the art car more and more until there was a party around the whole ship and everyone dancing in the dust. It was truly a magical moment, and it means a lot to me anyone who takes the time to listen to this set. Much love - Ben Dro

Burning Man 2023 - Ben Dro White Out Set from the Rocketship

The heavy rain started in the late afternoon of the day before, on Friday. By Saturday morning the mud had rendered the playa nearly impassable, due to the consistency and depth of mud that formed. Most people stayed put in their camps once the rain started. We were already planning to have DJs on Friday, but when the rain set in we decided to keep the party going until there was no DJ left standing. This set was recorded towards the end of the 22-hour-long unbroken stretch of music we hosted in the bar.
