It is an incredibly complex track below the surface as I wanted to make something as original as possible that would sound great in 100 years too. When the original of Friend came out, it was one of the coolest tracks I'd heard in awhile. I loved how much fun the vibe was, plus the almost passive aggressive lyrics about cutting a toxic person out of your life. So when @FRNDmusic reached out asking me to remix the track, it was a no brainer. Being out on tour this fall, I was super inspired to make a hard hitting version of the song that would work in my live shows. Staying true to the original, I kept a lot of the parts and blew everything else up 10 fold for a big fat remix that I hope is just as much fun as the original.
