This is nearly thirty-two minutes long: about the length of some albums. We didn't set out for it to be this expansive. 
We've got into a routine now of, when recording in our DIY set up in the living room, having a brief discussion of what key and tempo, then off we go. We don't discuss style or length; we just travel where the wind takes us.

Melissa James is, however, much more than a blues singer. She is a poetic songsmith with a voice that reaches soul deep, gently tugging hearts. Her second album, Stripped Back, recorded in 2015, followed her debut Day Dawns; an intimate acoustic collection of songs accompanied by piano and guitar.
