Christopher Holmes is a guitarist based in Berkeley, CA, who draws on a wide range of influences. Learning the traditional blues and folk styles of his Appalachian childhood surroundings, Christopher then went on to study classical and jazz before ultimately taking his guitar out on the road. The resulting sound is parts roots and blues, jazz and funk, classical, world music, psychedelic rock, and all fingerstyle. Chris uses his arranging skills and classical guitar techniques to create rich sonic atmospheres in the grain of Fahey or Kottke but with a jazzier, groovier feel.
