Minneapolis’ Bass United Recordings teams up with local three-piece Estate for a superb new single of funk laden electronic pop backed with remixes from Dirty McKenzie, DCUP and Sloslylove… Minneapolis three piece Estate have been producing musical electronic gems for the last seven years, taking their sound on the road with the likes of Yelle, Ellie Goulding and Gigamesh and releasing three critically acclaimed albums and a host of singles. The trio are heavily influenced by an array of sounds with obvious links to 70’s and 80’s funk, soul, electro and new wave, as well as modern house and nudisco; in their own words they simply look to “make feel good music that is at home on the dancefloor or in the bedroom”. For their latest single Estate team up once again with the Bass United Recordings label, an imprint that has been pushing outstanding eclectic and electric music for the last decade. The single kicks off with the ‘Official’ version of ‘Slipstream’ a catchy and uplifting slice of disco pop that marries classic synths and rich bass with the bands distinctive vocals, quality stuff. The original version is followed by a remix from label boss Dirty McKenzie whose ‘Flutestream mix’ does what it says on the tin, delivering a delightful version that pulls together a retro 70’s disco B-line with funk guitar licks and a standout flute solo. The last of the ‘Slipstream’ mixes sees Australian producer DCUP turn in a chopped up electro influenced reworking that provides another outstanding alternative. The second ‘Official’ track comes in the shape of ‘Pressure’s On’ a soulful and laidback cut that shows Estate’s chilled side with it’s hypnotic vocoded vocals and heart stirring melodies. The original version is backed up with a mix from new US artist Sloslylove who drops a delightfully left of center reworking that utilizes fluid sounding drums and intense pads to provide a perfect soundbed for the vocal parts, sublime stuff. This is another winner from Estate and the ever excellent Bass United Recordings, enjoy!

When I make a mix I try and tell a story. These aren't the newest or coolest songs on the block, and you probably wont hear me DJing most of them. Talented and original we welcome Swedish electronic starlet Adeline to helm this weeks podcast. Having been brought up amongst idyllic Swedish countryside, Adeline swiftly made her way more urbane climbs as she moved to Stockholm and the, embraced the pioneering underground concept that the Stockholm club scene has to offer. She then quickly rose to prominence with the Swedish scene and soon found herself Scandinavia biggest electronic radio show P3 Dans as well as helping in the set up of the then newly formed SoundCloud. 

Then arriving in London in 2010 via a Milan, New York and Berlin Adeline continue to refine her own distinct sound characterized by hypnotizing chords and warbling basslines over slick melodies that tie together for tracks that stand out in even the strongest of sets. Gaining support from some of the scenes coolest names from Damien Lazarus to David August,  releasing on some of the hottest labels in Kindisch and Cuprit and gaining rave reviews from performance across Europe for her performances the future looks very bright for Adeline.  Delivering and eclectic and interesting set for us this week we think it’s a firm statement of intent for the summer to come! Andy Faze:

Andy Tappin is a DJ, Producer, Scientist and avid electronic music lover of over 15 years on the scene. Spinning everything from House, Techno & Trance, Andy has honed his craft into Breakbeat! Over the last 5 years Andy has established himself as a respected producer & DJ in the scene with over 50 releases, on more than 15 international, leading & influential record labels.

His progressive style and consistant slick production with-in the modern day Psybreaks sound, has earned him great respect and many fans. Many of Andy's releases have reached the top 100 charts in all major download stores and many of them reaching the top 50!

Andy has performed at various clubs and festivals here in the UK, across Europe, and has graced the same stages and nights with legendary acts such as - Eat Static, Cosmosis, The Orb, Green Nuns of the Revolution, System 7, Liquid Ross, Astralasia, Transglobal Underground, OOOD, Hedflux and Guadi to name a few. 

He helps run Sub Element Recordings, which was voted best new label in 2014 at - Breakspoll (The International Breakbeat Awards). Andy was also nominated for an award in 2013 along with DJ Fastbinder for best radio show (Future Breakz Live). Andy now runs his own Psybreaks podcast (Elements), which has gained over 20,000 subscribers (in just 18 months), welcomed massive support, and is growing each day! 

Mr Faze  has recieved support from respected artists such as - Nick Sentience, Hedflux, Bad Tango, Broken Eye, OOOD, Monk3ylogic, Chris Voro, Pale Penguin, Llupa, Too Dusty, AP3X, Martopeter, plus many others.

With already an extensive discography - many productions, remixes and a brand new album planned for the summer, the horizon looks bright! :)
