The Rock'n Roll Love Song

Here's my attempt in "Symphonic Rock" using a free String Plugin (DSK Overture). Guitars are all "Maybach Lester" Model, my new favorite.
I had a hard time finding a title for this track. Until I played it to my friend Marcus. He immediately said that he sees mountains, highlands etc. I finally found my title :-)

The Mountain Path

Some time ago John Baker (@ldchool) sent me this great backing track he created and asked me to play a lead break on it. After I did we recognized that this track strongly deserves vocals. So I sat down and searched for some words to get some lyrics together and thought of a melody to sing. Then asked my friend Marcus to come over and sing. We all are very satisfied with the result. Thanks to John's mixing skills and Marcus' voice it turned out quite nice.

A Different Kind of Truth

80s style rock song. Vocals by Roger, former singer of the band Zardiz (Bruchsal, Germany). Tried to create a dark, scary feeling (think Dio). This track also features my wife whispering in the intro and outro.

Days Of Pain (Instrumental)

Lately I rummaged through my harddrive and found an old track I recorded 10 years ago. That was when I startet using a DAW to record. As always when trying out something new I did some blues chords and improvised over them. Now I rediscovered this old recording and my wife told me that it's not that bad ;).
So searched for that old daw-project and loaded it. Some of the plugins I used back then were missing so I added ezdrummer and a bass plugin, and a new vst-amp on the guitar track. I do not have the guitar I used anymore. I think it was a Washburn.
So, here's the result. As always, feel free to comment etc.

New Year, Old Blues (Instrumental)

This is a song in the style of hard rocking "Down Under Rock'n Roll". But the soul in Monis voice brings it to the northern hemisphere. Again I'm very thankfull that Moni agreed to record this track. As always, she delivered such a great performance!

Favorite Sin (Voc. Moni)

This is oldschool bluesrock! Lately I replaced the pickups in my stratocaster. I also put on a new vibrato system. Since this guitar is now "pimped" I had the idea for this track. And this is the very first track of mine to feature a "real" bassguitar. Played by my friend Tommy with whom I played in a coverband for decades. And, of course, Moni again. Singing the way only she can. BIG thanks to both of you!!

It's 2019! First day of the new year - first track. Here's some blues for you! Fender Stratocaster (with replacement pickups) and Telecaster. Supported by a VST organ for which I did some extensive slides on the midi keyboard (couldn't resist :-) )

Winter Blues

This is my first collab with Norbert Meyer, @https://soundcloud.com/nobsmeyer.
We met here on SC and he told me that he grew up in the city where I live. No more reasons needed for working together on a song.
I had the idea for this ballad and he played a marvelous bass part on this track.
Again, Moni singing. The ballad I promised her some time ago :-).
And, also for the very first time, Melli, another friend of mine, contributed the background vocals. 
Hope you like this ballad although it's not the usual Rock and Blues stuff.

Another Broken Heart Song

This track is about the "End of the World" ;-)
While playing the first riffs of this it sounded like a clone of Led Zeppelin. So I first called it "Zep's Clone". When it came to write the lyrics I couldn't get the word "clone" out of my head. So the story evolved about the last human beings cloning themselves to live on on a dying earth. It somehow fits to the ongoing climate debate. But after all, it's just some words from someone who is not good in writing lyrics.
Anyway, this is the 2nd track with my friend Marcus singing and the first track with my friend Maes playing bass. Both members of another band I played in for years. Both delivered absolutely stunning performances on vocals and bass and I can't thank them enough.

An Ocean Between (With Tom Adams)

A new track for the rest of the summer. Not the usual summer for many of us. Still restrictions in our lives because of the well known reasons. So I called this track The Lonely Summer Waltz. Not a waltz in the strict sense but at least it's in 6/4 metric. and it's kind of heavy :-)
