Ricky has over 30 years of DJ experience with many residencies at clubs & bars, and has played at numerous events, festivals, online radio stations and on international radio. 

He started his music journey in 1992 on the decks, playing a mix of Hardcore, Jungle and DnB, but soon moved on to playing house and garage at local events.

 In 2000 Ricky moved to London and quickly gained residencies in over 30 London clubs/bars playing commercial music for ‘Soho Clubs & Bars’ and ‘The Vanderpump Group’ (both DJ agencies). Ricky's London residencies spanned over 10 years and included the main room at ‘Sound’ in Leicester Square for 3 years, Zoo Bar, Cheers, Planet Hollywood, Ruby Blue, OBar, BarSoho, Oxygen, Metra, Lvpo, Sports Cafe, Rock Garden, Walkabout, School Discos, Strawberry Moons, Sirocco and many more. Ricky still plays some commercial gigs and has a mobile rig for private parties, but prefers larger house music events and working with promotors.  

While playing the commercial clubs, Ricky was also playing at Londons ‘less’ commercial clubs and events and had moved on to the Trance / Hard House scene. This led to Ricky starting his own Laser Display company called ‘Mirror Images’ providing Lasers, and DJing for underground parties and warehouse raves across London. Including the Drome (SE1 club), EQ warehouse, Brixton Fridge, 414 Brixton, The Rex (Stratford), Heaven, Brixton Academy, and many more. This became ‘Laser Show Hire’, which up until recently was providing lasers, lights and sound for many of the events you know today.  

In 2010 Ricky moved to Turkey where he spent a year playing at the Istanbul clubs and bars. He also hosted the Friday night house music weekend warmup show on Turkish national radio (N101 FM) for a period of 6 months. This led to him playing at Istanbuls famous ‘SupperClub’ a number of times and being a headline act at the Istanbul Festival (DJ Fest), where he played along side Turkeys top DJs.   

Ricky then took a 10 year break from the music world to raise a family, but couldn’t stay away and rejoined to scene in 2020 with regular lockdown vinyl only live streams, digging through all the classics from to the 90s-00s. Off the back of this, Ricky started an online community called ‘Old Skool Selecta’ which led to Ricky playing New Years Eve at Moondance (Gt Suffolk St Warehouse) in the Epidemic arch, and getting a regular show on Fantasy FM playing old skool and new bangers.   

In 2022 Ricky move back to House and Tech House with a regular show on House Music Radio, Which unfortunatly was cut short due to work commitments.  Ricky has since released a track called ‘Trippin on Glue’ which is a mashup of ‘Bicep-Glue’ and ‘Goldtrix-Trippin’, which did very well.  Ricky has played at many House music events including House Heaven, Bring the House Down, Catch, Oh so Sexy, KRM, Mysterium, Sun of a Beach, and many more.   

In 2024 Ricky Joined the Huge FUNKY.SX and the rest is history.  Watch this space.

S.A.L.T. started as an electrifying ensemble composed of Julex, Neok, and Hipkens. Now it is Neok and Hipkens but our bond was still formed in the historical depths of Nijmegen, Holland's most ancient imperial city. The 1990s, a decade renowned for its groundbreaking house scene, served as the backdrop of our youth. It was during this era that we cultivated a deep-seated passion for house music, with a special emphasis on the nostalgic rhythms of old school rave house.

Our individual paths have seen us deeply entrenched in the dance music landscape for numerous years, engaging in a spectrum of activities from DJing and music production to the organization of memorable house parties. In a fusion of our talents and experiences, we have united under the banner of S.A.L.T. to forge #RAVEHOUSE tracks. Our collective endeavor is driven by a singular mission: to resurrect and celebrate the quintessential rave house sound that marked the zenith of the genre's glory days.

"Our track "Beautiful," released under Unbelievable Records (Italy), has garnered significant acclaim and enjoys support from industry luminaries such as Riva Starr, Paco Osuna, Robert Owens, Horse Meat Disco, and Cristian Varela.
