Night has fallen, the threat of extinction riding on the edge of its transition. Decaying and contorted faces of the undead leer from the shadows, twisted limbs reaching from the darkness towards the eternal signal - driven to crush its subversive broadcast and extinguish the final beacon. A single being stands in their way - the strongest of his kind, the last of a genetic line extending into a derelict past with an imperative to preserve the future. An arsenal of sonic weaponry residing within the lines of his palms, drawn forth through the ancient forms manifested by long-dead masters. His swift movement amongst the shuffling army is efficient - acute strikes snap limbs, raw concentrated power crushes bone, low-frequency techniques leaving little behind from the weight of brutal molecular disruption. With the rising of the sun, only he remains – the broken dead lying scattered and without motion – the focused power of his fighting form has prevailed… the signal is preserved.
 
Following up on the impact of the sampler EP, L 33 unleashes his most devastating technique upon the EATBRAIN label with his KARATE LP. An artist residing at the heart of the Eatbrain collective with an entirely unique and recognizable sound – his album delivers a polished and hard-hitting array of tracks designed with pure dancefloor palpitation in mind. Deep within the core of their sprawling annex, The Institution’s top minds worked diligently at their insidious craft. Their hands moved swiftly, as they worked relentlessly with the sharp tools of their mind; warping words, images, and sounds to fit their malevolent narrative. Their objective was singular, complete control exercised from the shadows, profits reaped from beyond the veil of obscurity. Trust, that most hallowed principle, was nothing to them but a tool of manipulation, exercised to to legitimize their empire. The plan was simple, a classic diversion operated on a massive scale. The creation of an enemy, the eternal outsider, one against whom the public must remain vigilant. Composed of a paradox, the outsider posed no threat, yet could never be vanquished. Instead, his reputation and the shadow of his fearful influence would loom as a spectre, a shade of darkness designed to haunt the masses. Their fear would drive them into the protection of The Institution, shepherded in the manner of livestock. From there, the extension of their complete control would be assured. The machinations of its minds completed, The Institution began its program of domination in full, disseminating its precisely produced PROPAGANDA amongst the public.

Their message was erected upon the walls of their great city, proliferated throughout the mailboxes of its citizens, and across the webpages of it their tightly controlled digital network. Their message spread with viral efficiency. The citizens’ response was sublimely realised, a surge of fear through the populace, shepherding them into the arms of The Institute as they sought security in the face of the threat birthed in pure imagination. Security, The Institution was more than happy to provide; promising strength in the face of the mysterious menace. The Institution’s agents felt the power of their positions strengthen throughout the city, soon holding its highest offices in their grip, putting greater tools of control in their hands. Initiatives were passed, laws enacted, and the vaults of the city drained. The streets were the conduit of their fear, their PROPAGANDA campaign continuing in the fearful whispers of the citizens carrying the fear of The Outsider’s presence. The cycle was set, justification freely given out of fear. The Institute’s diabolic machinations ran as pure as the fear that coursed through the city.

The man pulling the strings behind the revered EATBRAIN imprint, JADE, returns for his second release of the year on his home label with the fiercely executed PROPAGANDA EP, featuring the veteran skills of RIDO. Following on from the much-acclaimed AWAKE EP, Jade powerfully demonstrates that he’s back in the studio and putting his veteran knowledge of what functions on the Eatbrain dancefloor to effective use. Delivering two fresh, tech-infused DnB bangers, along with a faster tempo VIP of fan favourite MAN EATING LIZARD DRAGON, as well as a further strut in the unfolding genre mechanism of slow and meaty neuro in SPY CAR, the PROPAGANDA EP delivers the Eatbrain manifesto in exquisite form. SPIDER’s initial creeping rhythm grows in stature over its introduction, quickly becoming a brash arpeggiated lead that provides the springboard for the track’s primary aspect, a sharply edged bassline that moves to a funk fueled rhythm atop a torrent of percussion. The menacing atmosphere of HATRED finds quarter with its predecessor, driven by similar tonality as its vocal sample calls forth a destructive assault of straight beat drums & a gnashing bassline, before reaching its peak in a furious flurry of its many elements combined.

Topped by a pair of dated hats, two trenchcoats loomed within the neon lit alleyway. Against the glowing backdrop of the city, their canvas forms were anachronistic, seeming to have stepped forth from the silver screens of a heyday long since past. So too unnerving was the silence with which they observed the scene before them, the disfigured and mangled robotic corpse which lay upon the dampened asphalt below. Collecting no evidence nor performing no noticeable forensics, the figures stood stock still as though shocked by that which lay before them. A murder of cold intention, somehow conducted despite the vicegrip of the security network that they represented. One might have expected such if viewing the scene at a certain angle, but in the eyes of the murderer hidden away on a nearby rooftop a different scene was portrayed.

A sole held breath escaped the murderer's mouth as he viewed the metallic investigators below. Mockeries of classical representations of his own form, their old fashioned garb did little to belie the inhuman appearance of what lay beneath. These beings of circuitry and alloy scanned the crime scene with impossible precision, imaging it’s every quality to be processed within the greater security mainframe. His single shot had been perfect, with no ammunition casing left behind, but still he worried at the mainframe’s powers of deduction. Mere moments after his robotic quarry had fallen these investigators had arrived, representing the mechanical law that now governed this once vibrant human city. He knew they would be here for hours, and that he could not move for fear of discovery during that time. Thus, in a murky corner of a soot stained rooftop the murderer hunkered in, blending into the shadows of the city’s dismal noir.

MNDSCP investigates intricate mechanical sonics with his latest PLOT HOLE EP on EATBRAIN, which follows 2019’s Hogzilla EP and a slew of other releases under his earlier Mindscape name on the label. PLOT HOLE sees MNDSCP in full force as he delivers four tracks driven by his signature tech focused sound within a thematically inspired sinister soundscape that invites the EATBRAIN horde to investigate their every undulation.
