Scottish born, DJ Nadia grew up in sunny Algeria, where her interest in music started and as she practiced her art, she became heavily involved in the local scene. Over the last 20 years, ever since she embarked on her musical journey, she crafted her DJ skills and is no stranger to the Progressive house arena, her style of Djing has been influenced by the legends; Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Nick Warren and Sasha & Digweed to name a few, and brings us unrivalled pure progressive house vibes.  
Nadia has been based in the UK for the last 4 years, playing alongside great names such as Kasper Koman, Budakid, Paul Hazendonk, Moshic, GMJ & Matter at amazing events run by the likes of Modern Agenda, the Prog Lab Bristol & Progressive Astronaut London …all of this without forgetting her active contribution to the Algerian local scene.

We welcome Abhijith Hegde who goes by the moniker 'Weird Sounding Dude', for the sixtieth edition of the 'Deep In Mix' series. Hailing from Bengaluru, India, his journey into the world of electronic music was serendipitous, ignited by a chance encounter with Armin Van Buuren's ASOT episode on a local radio station. His initial exposure to the art of DJing left an indelible mark, inspiring him to delve deeper into the craft. Dude's relentless curiosity led him to enroll in a local academy to master the intricacies of DJing, setting him on a path that would eventually see him evolve into a self-taught music producer over nearly a decade.

Weird Sounding Dude's artistic philosophy defies the constraints of genres, driven by a singular mission to invigorate dance floors. His sets are carefully crafted to keep audiences pulsating with energy, regardless of the time slot he occupies. Having graced stages across India's most prestigious festivals and clubs, as well as international locales like Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, Abhijith owes his success to music and the opportunities it has provided. His influences, drawn from luminaries such as James Holden, Nathan Flake, Extrawelt, and Sebastian Mullaert, infuse his music with distinctive chuggy grooves, squelchy rhythms, and winding melodies, always sprinkled with delightful surprises. He has released on prominent imprints such as Sudbeat Music, Mango Alley, Anjunadeep, The Soundgarden, Hoomidaas, Souksonic, and LuPS Records to name a few.

His ascent as a music producer has been meteoric, consistently landing his tracks on Beatport's charts and garnering support from industry giants like Tony McGuinness, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy Mantzur, and many more. He is set to release a remix, titled "Midnight Mirage," on the 29th of this month, on the USA-based label SLC-6 Music, a collaborative effort with his good friends Martin Fredes and Luciano Capomassi. The track has already gained substantial traction, earning accolades from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, who have enthusiastically featured it in their shows. Abhijith takes this moment to express his heartfelt gratitude to them for their unwavering support.

In addition to his studio prowess, Weird Sounding Dude has had the privilege to share the decks with Jody Wisternoff, Guy J, Yotto, Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger, Cubicolor, Nils Hoffmann, Nox Vahn, Mind Against, Braxton, Khen, Enamour, Jerome Isma-Ae, Stan Kolev, Jimpster, Vaal, Dauwd, BOg, to name a few. Dude's musical odyssey continues to evolve, and his two radio shows, 'Sinetone' and "Orbis," attest his commitment to the art. It's safe to say that his musical expedition has slowly started to take shape with no intention of slowing down.

Berlin-based DJ, producer, label owner and event organizer MoodFreak alias Stephan Pietack is a man of many talents. His solo productions and as part of Sudhaus together with Mike Koglin have been played by some of the biggest DJs including Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo and Quivver to name but a few. Gustin at The Soundgarden Showcase Stream III

I've been listening to electronic music since I was old enough to tune into the John Peel show on Radio 1. Peel first introduced me to Chicago House, Detroit Electro and Rap. I would listen to an entire show with my finger hovering over the record button of my 'tape-recorder' close to the radio speaker just to record whatever 3 electronic imports he would play each night. I wish I'd kept those recordings.
From the moment I first heard 'Roxanne Shante' I sought out everything I could ranging from Kraftwerk, Mike Oldfield, Kurtis Mantronik, Africa Bambata, Grandmaster Flash, Gorgio Morodor, Axel-F, Jean Michel Jarre and just about anyone who used a synth to make music! With the arrival of House in the mid-late 80's the likes of Marshall Jefferson, Frankie Knuckles, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Steve Silk Hurley, Adonis and many more American underground House producers, the music had developed into a new, seriously exciting phenomena.
Music progressed at pace with House and Acid imports driving change, the UK in particular underwent an epiphany of sorts in the 80's and 90's. From Break-Dancing to New Romanticism, the music developed, finally morphing into the early genres of Acid Trance, Techno and Progressive Trance. Heavily influenced by American and underground Dutch and German artists and with the advent of clubbing and non-speaking mixing DJ's, it opened up a Pandora's box of new music, influences, sounds and styles. What that amounted to for me (and most others like me) was an ever-growing range of electronic music that was continually breaking free from pigeon-holes and mainstream pop culture. Electronic music had become the new classical music of a generation.
I can only say that electronic or computer music has evolved beautifully in the past 40 years and I love it as much now as the day I first heard John Peel play fantastic American imports.
I'm not anything more than a bedroom DJ and electronic music enthusiast. I have the greatest admiration for those who DJ publicly and seek to build a following or career from DJing, but that’s not a path I’ve tried to follow. I do love to put together great tunes, so for me using this sort of platform for sharing music is perfect for me. I do mixes both on my decks and using Ableton, as sometimes I find it easier to create a journey through that medium. 
As for making music, I’m slowly finding my way around Ableton in order to bring life to the musical ideas rolling around my head. 
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the mixes I post, please give me some feedback and if nothing else, support the artists themselves and buy their music.
