Dark Entries is proud to present the debut album by Figure Study, a contemporary band from New York. Figure Study is the Manhattan duo of Nathan Antolik and April Chalpara, who share writing and production duties, while April handles the vocals. They began the project in 2009, after meeting one another through the Wierd Records weekly party, where they would play their first concert soon after. While their debut 7" contained two songs recorded in 2009, this full length contain all new material recorded throughout the past year. 
For their debut self-titled album Figure Study utilize a small, simple analog synthesizer set up of all vintage Roland analog synths and drum machines. April's elegant vocals glide through the hazy shadows of a distant, emotionless world. Songs flux between pulsating and saturnine, each carrying a sense of urgency and modernism.   Figure Study's sound includes influences from underground new wave music such as Kirlian Camera, Nine Circles, and The Actor.
All songs have been mastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Each LP is housed in a specially designed jacket by N. Antolik and includes an insert with lyrics. Figure Study draw their own model using shapes and forms from the synthetic landscape.

Dima is a visual artist by profession and the father of .Solutions Radio — a multi-genre 24/7 auditory space exploration. 
He is a master of analog effects and a fan of hardware equipment. This speaks volumes, as the process of making mere connections requires a lot of time, effort, and attention. With the same meticulousness, Celte crafts each mix, creating a whole story, almost like in a movie, translating extensive experience from the visual to the auditory realm. Every mix is carefully balanced and explores various emotions, traversing through diverse musical genres while always staying within the framework of the initial concept and not straying beyond the scope of exploration. What Dima has decided to share within the framework of our show is for you, dear listeners, to discover.

En el fin de año de 1985, el país vivía
aun el terrible aroma de muerte y tristeza causado
por los terribles sismos que azotaron de manera tan
catastrófica a tanta gente. Pocas cosas causaban alguna alegría.
Una de ellas para mi, era el nacimiento de Década 2 y otra fundamental: el lanzamiento del disco de la banda mexicana Techno pop -Casino Shanghai-
Creación de mis maestros y amigos: 
Ulalume Zabala, Walter Schmidt, Humberto Alvarez y Carlos Robledo.
Está por demás hablar de la belleza y propuesta de este disco tan importante en la historia del rock y la música electrónica en México. Hoy 33 años después, el le última noche del 2018  en espera del año nuevo, y tremendamente abrazado por la nostalgia, quiero compartirles una versión muy en demo, e instrumental, pero algo épica de una de las piezas más conocidas de esta enorme agrupación.
Hoy quiero homenajear aquellos tiempos y a ésta gente fabulosa, que tanto aportó a mi vida. Lo hago con toda humildad y respeto, sin embargo he trabajado con mi arsenal más querido de sintetizadores y máquinas.
Que todos pasen una majestuosa noche, 
en espera de grandes éxitos y bendiciones para 2019.
