It's long past 9 p.m. now, and you still can't leave.
I took that very guitar theme that lived in every phone and every car of the noughties and poured it into the cold steel of 2025:
the bass is deep and slow, as if a huge generator had been started under the city
the synths are icy, with a slight metallic screech, as if they were being cut with a laser
the kick is 128 bpm — precise, relentless, each beat saying “one more round”
the main melody no longer calls you home, it keeps you in orbit until the last beat
This is no longer a trance about summer and freedom.
It is a mechanical anthem to those who meet 9 p.m... and still don't come.
The clock hits 9.
The machine starts.
You're not leaving.
