We've been following @xandg since Xian and Gaszia joined forces for their debut 4AM EP over two years ago, and the duo has grown in sound and stature since then. This summer, X&G made their NEST label debut with a menacing, noxious remix of cln's "Breathe," and at the start of the month they released their second album Persona, which keeps the hard bass scene on its toes.

Though the album's three biggest singles were freely available six months before the album dropped, Persona still surprised with a smattering of deep tunes in its back half, like the powerful "BELONG" or the absolutely bat-shit "Hate Machine" (which they discuss in our interview). The time is ripe for X&G to bring a NEST HQ MiniMix, and indeed they have slayed forth on this one, which traverses a lot of territory but never ceases to go hard. Cheers to X&G for another great album and an exciting year to come, and thanks for the awesome MiniMix! If you're in LA, be sure to check out X&G when they play at our Brownies & Lemonade party this Saturday, September 23rd, celebrating the release of WHIPPED CREAM's PERSISTENCE EP.

from getlofi's lofi fuzz's schematics, I made my own lofi fuzz pedal.  only additions I made are the input and output attenuation knobs and the bypass switch.

it sounds sick.

unfortunately, my audio interface decided to have a seizure while I recorded the first half of this, and I didn't feel like re-recording, so I just cut it out.  (it started with the dry drums, pretty boring without the fuzz, then had just the drums and the bassline solo'd before the melody comes in where this clip starts)
