I bought a couple of hardware pieces this year, one being the Syntakt - something I had wanted to explore for a while. I hadn't done much, if any, hardware only jams or performances however I had an idea in my head of what I sound I wanted to get from the kit that I had bought. I found the process incredibly freeing and easy to get into a flow state, so I think I'll be doing a lot more like this going forward. 

I kept the recording and mixing process as simple as possible. Syntakt - Drumbrute impact and Helix (for extra fx send, all synced via usb with ableton) into a Yamaha mixing desk, set the levels and just recorded the stereo out, then did a bit of post processing to get this.

Coming up next in our podcast series is one of our favorite live acts - @Triquetra-2, the Belgian twin brothers who are setting the goa trance scene ablaze!

An entirely live and full-hardware project, Triquetra merges the old-school spirit of 90s trance with a raw, spontaneous analog approach. Armed with synthesizers and a didgeridoo, their sound bridges acid, goa and many other influences, always with a deeply organic and tribal dimension.

It’s an absolute pleasure for us to host one of their analog rituals in our series, especially since this one has been recorded live at the latest Surya Spirits (@Suntrip-records) event in Ghent earlier this October. So prepare for a forward-driven flow of ancient vibrations and spiralling goa trance vibes!

Today he mastered the TR-8S as main instrument and adopted an hybrid setup:
Ableton Live drives the sonic quality to its peak where all the signal get mastered and before coming out to the Xone96.
APC40 controls the scenes like a groovebox.
The Xone K2 as hardware effect controller and internal pad to control a secondary drum machine.
Torso T1 sequence his synths, System-1m along with other integrated synths like the ASM Hydrasynth Explorer.  
the OTO Boum is the Master Thru as last point of escape for his music.


Just pure presence.
Every set is a question. 
Every drop is a cut through time.
