Heading up the Milan based Micro Orbit Records label, Zenk is an emerging talent who started to get noticed for his stripped-back, groovily infused minimal footprint.

After the strong support from the Micro House international scene and his various 12 inch EPs released in last years, the youngster has showcased a discerning ear for selecting and producing fresh, inventive records that hit their mark.

To celebrate the release of 003 'kenzo' for Animism records we invited Modebaku to carve out a guest podcast for our channel. 

Modebakú is a London-based artist, founder, and owner of “U Series Records” well known amongst East London ravers of the local underground scene, but gaining a lot more respect internationally lately. His productions been recognised by some of the finest artists and played around festivals, parties and raves worldwide.

On the production side, she appeared on the projects of the labels "Saraw", "Sendero", "Romanesco" and more recently the release of her 1st EP on DUB Musik.

Let's appreciate this section recorded in the capital of Moldavia, Chisinau. Romania's neighboring country, which also shares a good taste for underground minimal music. Nopau takes you on a deep unconscious state of dancing, while maintaining the essence of the Romanian sound - minimalistic, suggestive, and slightly dark.

Nevertheless, this magical journey seamlessly transitions between diverse subgenres such as Electro and Techno, all flawlessly mixed to create a clean rominimal vibe session.

There's no doubt that this represents the core sound of a:ritmi:a, also delivered under the concept of :hypnosis:. However, it is essential to return to the main series to maintain the balance of underground music all around.

Emanating from the new crop of DJs and producers surfacing from the East Side of London, Josh Smith has been cultivating his techniques and skill set as both producer and DJ in the Rominimal and Microhouse scene.

His musical craft incapsulates the Eastern European sound and energy with his carefully curated stripped back selection and well structured sets. This is displayed throughout his mixes and production which consists of dark rhythmic undertones, moody ambient textures and organic percussions which contrasts perfectly with those raw punchy basslines.

An artisan behind the dials and the buttons Josh has had multiple records released on household Romanian labels such as ‘Carpathian Sounds’ ‘PhonicHouse1’ ‘The Lab’ to name a few, alongside having featured guest mixes for renowned labels such as ‘Zebra Records’ and ‘Outpunkt Records’ respectively.

As well as his numerous releases Josh is also part of the growing East London collective ‘Select Sounds Ldn’. Having been a member of the crew since the launch of the brand, Josh has been an instrumental figure in the collectives musical journey helping define their London Minimal sound.
