Hello there mycologists ! We’re back this month with a heavily Break EP to kick off 2024 !

CABALE is a 90’s kid always in-between worlds, exploring breakbeat energies around ghetto tech, techno and jungle. He made his debut in Shanghai, where he’s been resident DJ for 2years. From mall basements to pagodas, roaming the underground Chinese coast provided enough to his creativity to blossom in a peculiar way.

We’re blooming to present his latest batch on our Syndicate, full of acid infused breaks, atmospheric synths and ghetto vibez ! Our resident artist DJ Overclock closes the EP with a club oriented remix of Ghetto Voyager.

"This spring, I attended the DJ workshop by Tsepo at pos. As I am always eager to learn and grow, I was thrilled (!) to be a part of this. Even though I had some experience from messing around with a mixer since COVID, I only became serious about playing in August 2023.

Jan and all the lovely people of pos gave me a super personalised learning experience. I learned a lot, from DJ scene insights to different mixing techniques, confidence in track selection and much more. They ensured a perfect mix of technical skills and ‘behind-the-scenes’ knowledge. I especially enjoyed trying out vinyl. Thank you, Jan and the pos crew, for creating such a chill, inspiring and special experience. I miss our Thursday sessions!

The mix I have created out of this journey is all about the music that truly excites me, making me want to dance (hard!) and forget all of my worries. Jan challenged me to express more genre-fluidity in my mixes and be creatively freeer in that sense since my taste is all over the place :p. I aim to keep my sets cohesive, but I love throwing in a little surprise now and then. I hope this mix can kick off our summer (finally), because we all can't wait for more sunny days. pos dj workshop with Tsepo | Vie Aimee | 06-06-2024

Cee Cee & Wall Ra are the German rap duo known for conceiving B-Funk, short for Berlin Funk. Bringing the West Coast to the Spree Coast, the genre is heavily influenced by Lowriders, Gary Payton, Too $hort, and Ant Banks. In a time not so long ago, Cee Cee, aka Cut Master Hang, was given the ability to scratch records ever so fantastically by a promiscuous male witch in exchange for a pair of rare Air Jordan 7 Miro sneaks. At first glance this might seem like an unequal exchange, however, it is important to remember that since dunking from the free throw line in 1988, Michael Jordan has been considered a person not bound to gravity or physics, which therefore makes his shoes products of magic. Chillin’ one day in Berlin’s Northside a la Nettelbeck, he met Wall Ra, a local dice roller and rapper who spent his nights hustling in the various numbered Bierbaums across the city. Blessed with the gift of gab, he gained notoriety as being the first hip hop recordings to use the word “slappin’”– a word which became one of the rapper's trademarks and was the focus of subsequent songs such as "Ain't Nothin' but a Slap to Me". Bonding over their love of G-Funk and dizzle dancing, they decided to make an album which felt like taking a stroll  through the streets of Berlin while drinking Olde English 800. Serving up fat basslines like candy paint dripping out ya speaker, collaborations with DJ Skain and the Notorious B.U.F.F. gave it an extra layer of je ne sais quoi. Keeping that fam community spirit alive, this deck2deck duo head to the Mega Buff Mansion this Wednesday to perform live raps and while blending Bay Area G-Funk, remixed mit dem Berlin Geschmack - nightcap vibes guaranteed.
