Belgium's Loulou players are the latest A-grade artists to join the musical menagerie that is the Animal Language roster. Slowly becoming a dysfunctional and truly international family, Animal Language continues to sign musically homeless waifs, strays and misfits providing them with a loving home. 

And so onto the EP that makes up the 21st release for Mason's label. Is Saturday Night Beaver a tribute to the late Robin Gibb? Possibly not, though it will surely inspire some Travolta-esque moves on the floor this summer. 

Chuggy, trippy and definitely funky this is like the best cooking: a few good simple ingredients put together well and not overdone. What's more Kolombo and jerome have added a sprinkling of cowbell to garnish and a splash of the usual craziness you'd expect from this imprint.

Rave's Parrot is the darker, more sinister bed partner of the collection. It still comes with a trusty groove but also with a kitchen knife behind its back as an unhinged surprise. Don’t trust the parrot!

The Mason boys have gone football crazy with this releases Refurb, probably the most random to date. Take a section of the most inebriated and partisan fans at the ground and get them to sing 'Rave's Parrot’. Simple. This could start a whole new chant at Ajax next season.

At Animal Language we love a concept. Our 'Nite Rite' releases only came out every full moon, 'Drum Kids' was all about electronic beat making machines and our ‘Refurbs’ were crazy re-workings of the original recordings. 

On '8 Elements' we’ve hand-picked three of our favourite producers and given them carte blanche to make us a track. Only one condition applied; not to use more than 8 elements or parts. Tough challenge right? 

Sometimes with restriction comes creativity and on this three track E.P. Hifi Sean, Kolombo and Endor have shown just what they can do with a limited musical palette. Our enforced minimalism has given birth to an eclectic bunch of tracks we know will rock. Sometimes it pays to be strict with music makers!
