Synchronizing the legendary compositional palates of Israeli electronic music and the contemporary design philosophies of forward thinking producers, MantisMash has been churning out a steady stream of psybient blends for well over a decade. With 7 major releases dotting the long arc of the project, and a clear appetite for sonic exploration, there’s little ground that he hasn’t covered in his own interpretation. Continuing that same gradual expansion of the MantisMash catalog, the syncretic Blisstorted EP covers a wide territory of fusions and rhythms.

Grounded in the lucid repetition of psydub and its fraternal siblings, Blisstorted brings breaks, neuro, drum and bass, and glitch-hop into a fresh focus, pulling classic arrangement hallmarks from each respective pool. With heavy emphasis on melody-driven songwriting and crystal clear mixing fundamentals, each of the five tracks hit the center mark for taste, novelty, and a consistent dance-floor mentality. Juicy mid-range synthesis meets crisp soprano tones and sharp percussive cuts in a medley that feels both at home in the MantisMash musical rolodex and like newfound territory for the long-time stalwart Producer. Pushing past the contemporary, often one-track paradigm, Blisstorted spares no ground covered in its expedition across style and impact, and should be sitting squarely at the top of your next crate-digging adventure.

This year at Earth Beat Festival, apart from my Dubstep set and the Deep-Ethno-Tech one, I had the pleasure of playing also a set for the crew party.  It was really cool, it created a lovely engaging atmosphere with smiles all around. 
And I have remembered to record the set!!

SHULGIN - Earth Beat Aotearoa (Big Badaboom Stage)

Two weeks had passed since Hekske chased away the logger from her forest. For the first time since that fateful day, Hekske (the little witch) and Falke (the 10 year old witch apprentice) had the courage to return to the spot where the villain had chopped down the tree. The witches still felt heartbroken at the sight of the dead tree. They decided to sit down on the trunk and tune in to the surrounding trees. As these giants have a very slow way of communicating, this process took several hours. When the sun was already going down, the message trickled in that a new tree should be planted at the very spot where Hekske was standing during her heroic act of two weeks earlier. The trees explained that she had harnessed so much energy on that day that this place had become a permanent energetic hotspot. And it should be an oak tree, as this tree was destined to live over 1000 years old and serve as one of the ‘mother trees’ which form the backbone of all healthy forest ecosystems.
The next day Hekske dispatched some squirrels to search the most suitable sapling, while she told Bob The Owl to spread the news that a new tree would be planted on the eve of the next new moon, which would coincide with the day of Saint Katarina (which is the best day to plant trees every year).
That day, all the animals of the forest converged at the now famous spot, from the tiniest little spider to the biggest deer buck. They aligned spontaneously in 11 concentric circles around the girl. All animals watched in complete silence as the little witch was carefully planting the tiny sapling with gentle, loving movements. Finally, she looked up and smiled and instantly there was a huge eruption of pure joy, the mice started to squeak, the badgers growled, all the birds sang in their own language. And this was only the start of a huge celebration which would last until deep into the night…

I’m thrilled to announce that this year at the Bhakti Yoga Festival we raised 12,600 euros, which will be split between the Baanurak Home and Food for Life Vrindavan projects ❤️ A heartfelt thank you to all participants, at every level, who made the festival truly unforgettable. And the wonderful atmosphere of the Hare Krsna community Villa Vrindavana did the rest. 

This year, too, we all worked incredibly hard to show solidarity with those less fortunate, in a time when the world seems to have gone mad and everything is upside down!  

So, cheers to us, cheers to the festival, cheers to Bhakti, and... see you in 2026!!!

This is the recording of the early morning set I played under my side project SHULGIN at #DimensionFestival2025 (NZ) on the legendary #BOOMCANDY sound system, a wall of bass custom-built by the iconic Christchurch crew for BASS music! It’s a slow, powerful set with earth-shaking basslines, perfect for those who crave deep, resonant vibes and the unmistakable groove of 140 BASS.
