The Highest Place

What am I, who am I, why am I here?
What is the cause for why I live in fear?
So many questions in my heart abound
And what of these feelings I have profound
Where is my place?

Who can make sense of all this life to me?
What is there to know that I cannot see?
I call out from my darkness to the light
Cos I wanna know what there is out of sight 
Where is the highest place?

I sought for reason in the Holy Word
And in time a voice came to me that I heard
My heart gravitated to the call beyond
By faith I could feel the need to respond 
To the highest place

The door of life opened to me and I went through
Immersed in the spirit of eternal truth
And now I’m entwined with the Heart from on high 
Who answers me the what, the who, the why
From the highest place

And now I am travelling from here to there
My God will not suffer me more than I can bare
I trust I will make it where He wants me to be
Safe with Him in His place eternally

When the days are rough
And the times are tough
When I have had enough
When nobody's home
And I am all alone
Facing the unknown

Anxiety comes on
And everything feels wrong
And where do I belong?
Fear on every side
I have no place to hide
So what do I decide?

What time I am afraid
I choose to be brave
Live my life by faith

Nothing man would say

From the narrow way

I can see the truth

What is that all about?
I am filled with grief
For their unbelief
But He is my relief

Evil powers be
