Kali Malone’s “Organ Dirges 2016 - 2017" is a collection of isorhythmic canons following the tradition of pipe organ requiems found in early modern music. Malone’s purified organ dirges echo embodied recollections of the piercing numbness of those battled encounters when the armours were stripped down, left with nothing other than will power, yet still standing upright as the columns of Sounion. The soothing and perceptive harmonies resonate to a presence that leans elegantly towards a courageous aftermath and a gleaming salutation. While the dirges themselves have minimal melodic and rhythmic variation, they appear in constant cyclical motion, revealing their refracted selves in a coherent yet unpredictable manner; like a rotating wheel where all spokes are perceptible but at any given moment in a different place.

Kali Malone (b. 1994, Colorado) is an American artist living and working in Stockholm, Sweden since 2012. Her solo works implement unique tuning systems in minimalist form for analog and digital synthesis often combined with acoustic instrumentation - such as pipe organ, string and wind instruments, lute and gong. Malone’s 2017 debut LP “Velocity of Sleep” was released on her own label XKatedral following tape releases put out by Ascetic House, Bleak Environment and Total Black. She is active in the groups Sorrowing Christ, Swap Babies, Upper Glossa with Caterina Barbieri. Her sophomore LP “Cast of Mind” is due spring 2018.

Sound artist, vocalist & composer Mara Miccichè aka IOKOI presents her most intimate work to date. Following her ‘hypercyberreal’ album «Liquefy», her new multidisciplinary work «Tales of Another Felt Sense of Self» is the result of a three-year collaborative journey inward, reflecting the numerous connections, contradictions, and reflections between the «self», the «same» & the «other».

Combining avant-pop & spoken word with field recordings & mercurial electronic textures, IOKOI researches the very essence of our being in relation to others. She is in search of who and what we are, as we face increasing disembodiment in the digital age. «Tales of Another Felt Sense of Self» demands a re-embodiment of all senses by exploring our routines of listening, seeing, sensing, understanding, and feeling, both in terms of the personal & the collective.

While the EP is being released in digital formats, IOKOI offers three additional layers of reflection: «Tales of Another Felt Sense of Self» is also a multisensory work in collaboration with videographer Michele Foti (IT), olfactory artist Klara Ravat (ES/DE) and visual artist Sarah Parsons (CH).

Michele Foti’s video clips are published online, and a limited-edition booklet & room scent package is available through the -OUS Bandcamp page.

From a state of psychedelic-induced ego death, through painful revelations and onward into a realm of new desires, these four very personal tracks are the direct result of the artist's own therapeutic process of self-exploration and expression undertaken during a tumultuous year of change. Utilising decidedly minimal instrumentation as the backdrop to the emotional weight of the voice and words, each song represents an individual step within an exhausting but ultimately affirmative transformation.

anita.moduliert is a keyboardist and a music composer who creates sonic habitats by exploring and sounding out various producing technologies. 

While she studies Cultural Anthropology and Social Science, she seeks to understand societal phenomena such as digitisation and its alien aspects of the human experience but also its promising ways of becoming entangled with others. As she has a keen interest in contemporary auditive culture using music theory to combine analog and digital producing techniques, she likes to melt these knowledges into sonic journeys open to explore.
