Hailing from Scotland and Italy, Fraser Shaw and Riccardo Derio, known by their stage name Alex Sonata & TheRio, have rapidly ascended in the global trance scene. The duo have been collaborating since 2018, garnering praise from the likes of Gareth Emery, Cosmic Gate and Armin Van Buuren. After many collaborations, the pairing made it official in 2020, and Alex Sonata & TheRio was born.

Their last release on Anjunabeats, 'Cala Luna', skyrocketed to #3 on Beatport Top Trance and gained support from Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten, Ben Malone, Genix, Fatum, Amy Wiles, and many more tastemakers worldwide. Their latest single is ‘Breath Of The Wild’ – inspired by the eponymous entry in The Legend of Zelda video game series, the track was selected by Above & Beyond for their Anjunabeats Volume 16 compilation, released in July 2022.

Two of Anjunabeats’ most prolific talents return, both riding high on the ABGT350 wave as ilan Bluestone & Spencer Brown join forces for a formidable new EP.

Named after one of ilan's resident felines, the one-two punch of ‘Pooperling’ fuses together Spencer’s progressive sound with ilan’s infamous ‘tronce’ plucks, whilst the title track ‘Gatekeeper’ - a crowdpleaser from both ilan and Spencer's gargantuan ABGT350 sets - continues in similar fashion whilst embracing more haunting elements. Andrew Bayer & Genix present their debut original collaboration, ‘The Test’, which was first heard on Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats Volume 15 compilation.

Never one to be pinned down by genre, Andrew Bayer has produced some of our label’s finest works, including ‘From The Earth’, ‘Superhuman’, ‘Signs Of The Fall’ and ‘Open End Resource’.

‘The Test’ is Bayer’s third Anjuna collaboration of the year, following ‘Black & Blue’ with ilan Bluestone, and ‘The Launch’ with Cosmic Gate. He’s been locked in his studio working on new original material, but found some time to create a ‘20 Years Of Anjunabeats’ mix, featuring some of his favourite selections from the label’s history.

A year on from the release of Anjunabeats Worldwide 09, Damion Houchen, aka Genix, has cemented his place at the forefront of modern tech-trance. He released ‘The Light’ with Grum in the summer, and has been a regular feature fixture on Anjuna’s live streaming schedule. 2021 will be another big year for Damion, with much more new music on the horizon.
