One of the label’s most experienced producers, Jaytech returns with the ‘Galactic EP’.

With over 40 releases across Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, Jimbo (as we affectionately know him) is a fan favourite amongst the Anjunafamily. He honed his ear as a label A&R for Anjuna HQ in the late 2000s. Now, he’s unearthing new talent on his long-running Jaytech Music mix show and sharing his wealth of production experience on YouTube. 

The ‘Galactic EP’ features four groovy Jaytech originals, plus a remix of ‘Dreamworld’ from Paul Arcane. A long-term friend of the label, Paul dropped his Anjunabeats debut ‘Sisu’ as part of our Rising EP series in July 2021.

Anjunabeats stalwart Graeme Shepherd, aka Grum, releases his fourth artist album, ‘Unreality’. Out now.

‘Unreality’ is his most reflective work to date, putting human connection in the digital age under the microscope. A story in two halves, the album is introspective, ideas-driven and song-heavy, holding a mirror to Graeme’s own emotional journey over the last two years.

The visceral nature of Graeme’s work has been present since his debut LP ‘Heartbeats’. A feel-good, get up and dance record championed by Annie Mac and Pete Tong in the early 2010s, Grum was a product of the blog era, riding the heights of Hype Machine with his synth-heavy sound. As he pivoted towards the dance floor, both his sound and the stories he wanted to tell became more daring.

‘Shout’, his cover of the Tears For Fears classic, was a prog house protest anthem that foreshadowed 2019’s ‘Deep State’ LP - an underground epic with an undercurrent of discontent, evident in the acid-tinged ‘Stay’, Depeche Mode-esque ‘Lose Control’ or hypnotic ‘Altered State’. 'Deep State' eventually spawned his own record label of the same name which has gone from strength to strength in recent years.

On his new album 'Unreality', there’s an undeniable summer euphoria to ‘Don’t Look Down’ and ‘Taking Over Me’, written alongside regular collaborator Natalie Shay, a rising star of the U.K. indie-pop scene. ‘Faded Memory’ and ‘Come Alive’, both featuring Sarah Appel, are a synth-heavy shot of adrenalin, channelling the glossy optimism of 1980s pop in a punchy contemporary production.

Another recognisable voice, Dom Youdan, enters the fold. Having previously worked with Grum on Tomorrow’ and ‘Invisible’, there’s a tangible yearning for deeper human connection in ‘Be The Horizon’ and ‘Virtual Companion’. Lead single ‘Disconnected’, featuring Daniel Sealine, is designed for the darkest corners of a club; a techno-infused helter-skelter ride with Daniel’s vocal bursting out of the shadows.

We close with a moment of hope in ‘Look To The Light’, Graeme’s first vocal performance on a record, and the introspective acceptance of ‘Our Cosmic Insignificance’.

Grum’s ‘Unreality’ is out now on Anjunabeats, with vinyl available to pre-order on the Anjuna Music Store now. Grum embarks on phase one of his ‘Unreality’ tour this summer, including 18 dates across North America with shows in San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, Toronto and more, plus a stop off at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Weekender London festival this September. ◾How did you come up with your dj name: With the real name of Citron finding my DJ name was easy.

◾How and when did you get into djing: I started DJ’ing in 1998. At the time i was living in my fraternity house. My little brother that year put his turn tables in my room, because i had space. He taught me the basics.

◾Who are your musical influences and what is your inspiration: I’m inspired by jazz, percussion, and worldly sounds. As for which musicians inspired me, there’s honestly to many to mention.

◾Describe your sound as a DJ: An exploration of multi cultural, and multi generational sounds layered on a bed of booty shaking bass.

◾What does the future hold in store for you as an artist: This coming weekend i’m playing at a festival in Tennessee called To The Moon. If you happen to be there you can catch me Sat night from Midnight to 1am at the Headroom Stage.

Panda On the Bamboo Tree is a musician from Poland and has been developing his project for about 8 years. The artist's incredible work with a synthesizer is truly his calling card: with the help of literally one instrument, Panda writes complex, multi-level compositions.

You can confirm this by listening to the new album Xtradimensional Motions. Variegated electronics and deep bass are harmoniously diluted with ethnic motifs and even acoustic Indian vocals. Egyptian-born, Boston-based musician Nourey is a rising star on the label. First picking up the guitar at ten years old, Nourey turned to music production; releasing on Elliptical Sun Recordings and AVA. Her unique blend of trance, house and jazz caught the ear of Above & Beyond, who played her debut single 'Skylar' on Group Therapy Radio in 2019. She soon crossed over to Anjunabeats, remixing Gabriel & Dresden and releasing 'In Motion' (with OLAN) and 'All Night' (with ZOYA). 


Across the five-track ‘Meant To Be EP’, Nourey explores human relationships, climate change and social justice. The EP also showcases Nourey’s diverse sound and influences, spanning progressive trance, ambient, deep house and breakbeat. Las Vegas-based singer/songwriter FOSTER also features, lending her vocals to ‘Meant To Be’ and ‘Free’.


Nourey made her live debut at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Weekender festival in July 2022, and we can’t wait to see her in action at Dockyards London on September 10.


Alongside her music career, Nourey is also a postdoctoral research fellow and manager of the Climate Change and Cities Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She’s worked closely with AnjunaHQ on sustainability initiatives, including at Group Therapy Weekender, and has multiple academic awards and honours for her research.
