Following in the footsteps of Anjuna superstars Mat Zo, ARTY, ilan Bluestone and Grum, the tenth instalment in the legendary Anjunabeats Worldwide compilation series leads you to the darkest of dance floors; an underground techno and trance trip courtesy of US-based duo Fatum.

Ubiquitous on Anjuna over the last decade in various guises, Bruce Karlsson and Daniel Davis have been responsible for an abundance of catalogue classics.

Bruce was an architect of the electro-tinged grooves that made Norin & Rad a tour-de-force throughout the early 2010s with the likes of ‘Bloom’, ‘Pistol Whip’ and ‘Thundercat’. Dan, crate-digger and intricate melody maker as Judah (w/ Chris Nelson), responsible for the likes of ‘Boss Fight’, ‘Nomad’ and ‘Zero-Day’.

Always found at their best together, Fatum launched as a quartet in 2015 alongside Chad Newbold and the sorely missed Bill Hamel. Boisterous floor fillers ‘Chocolate, ‘Love On A Real Train’ (Tangerine Dream Cover) and ‘All In’ followed, the latter reworked by Above & Beyond in May 2020.

Anjunabeats Worldwide 10 is a 21 track journey championing the past, present and future sound of the label. There are five original productions from Fatum themselves, including collaborations with Jaytech, Mars Atlas, LYCA and re:boot. Mainstays of the Anjunabeats family Mat Zo, Genix, Grum, ALPHA 9 and Sunny Lax are present, while Anjunabeats Rising graduates Naz and Alex Sonata & TheRio have their first outing on a label compilation.

Fatum also bring cult favourites back to the dance floor, reworking Andy Moor and Adam White’s ‘Whiteroom’ and Above & Beyond’s ‘Alone Tonight’ - the sought-after Alexandra Palace remix which first aired nearly a decade ago.

Nourey delivers a breakbeat-infused joint-effort with vocalist FOSTER, ‘Meant To Be’.

Egyptian-born, Boston-based musician Nourey is a rising star on the label. First picking up the guitar at ten years old, Nourey turned to music production; releasing on Elliptical Sun Recordings and AVA. Her unique blend of trance, house and jazz caught the ear of Above & Beyond, who played her debut single 'Skylar' on Group Therapy Radio in 2019. She soon crossed over to Anjunabeats, remixing Gabriel & Dresden and releasing 'In Motion' (with OLAN) and 'All Night' (with ZOYA).

‘Meant To Be’ sees Nourey collaborate with Las Vegas-based singer/songwriter FOSTER, who makes her debut on the label.

Alongside her music career, Nourey is also a postdoctoral research fellow and manager of the Climate Change and Cities Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She works closely with AnjunaHQ on sustainability initiatives, and has multiple academic awards and honours for her research.

Nourey is set for a breakthrough year on Anjunabeats, with more original music arriving soon on the label and performances lined up at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Weekender festivals at The Gorge and Dockyards London.

JODA, aka Jono Grant (Above & Beyond) and Darren Tate (DT8 Project, Jurgen Vries), release the final single taken from their self-titled debut album ‘JODA’, ‘Closer’.

‘Closer’ leans into pop with dark, electro undercurrents and features vocals from singer-songwriter Robyn Sherwell, who has previously been championed by Jo Whiley, Lauren Laverne and Huw Stevens across the BBC Radio network. Released on July 29, ‘Closer’ explores themes of loss, anguish and strength.

JODA is the new passion project from Jono Grant and Darren Tate. As dance music mainstays, the pair have always been in each other’s orbit. Jono Grant is one third of Above & Beyond, one of electronic music’s most influential acts, and Darren Tate is a producer and songwriter with 12 top 40 UK hits and three appearances on Top of the Pops.

The pair first unearthed their chemistry in 2003, when they produced “Let The Light Shine In” and “Nocturnal Creatures” together. They reconnected in 2019 when Tate returned to his trance roots and signed to Anjunabeats under his DT8 alias. Around the same time, Above & Beyond received an offer to score an environmental documentary The Last Glaciers, and teamed up with Tate to write it. The musical lightning struck immediately, and once the score was written the chemistry felt too good to lose. When lockdown hit, Tate and Grant entered a mutual creative bubble, and co-wrote a flurry of synth-wave dark-pop electronica. Enter JODA.
