One of the highlight tracks to come from Dezza's latest artist album '44° North, 63° West' was 'My Breath', thanks to Dezza's typically bold production and airy, floating vocals from Dan Soleil. 

Deeparture's remix is up first and it's slick and tidy like we've come to expect from the Dutch musician who uses bouncy, bubbling synths to create an immersive production. German producer Matt View follows with a lush drum and bass take, capturing the wistful emotion of the track in all its glory.

Musician, producer and environmental scientist Nourey announces the ‘Meant To Be EP’ and releases new single, ‘For Ellie’.

Egyptian-born, Boston-based musician Nourey is a rising star on the label. First picking up the guitar at ten years old, Nourey turned to music production; releasing on Elliptical Sun Recordings and AVA. Her unique blend of trance, house and jazz caught the ear of Above & Beyond, who played her debut single 'Skylar' on Group Therapy Radio in 2019. She soon crossed over to Anjunabeats, remixing Gabriel & Dresden and releasing 'In Motion' (with OLAN), 'All Night' (with ZOYA) and ‘Meant To Be’ (with FOSTER).

The second single from her upcoming debut EP, ‘For Ellie’ is dedicated to Zanziman Ellie, a 21-year-old Rwandan man with microcephaly, whose story went viral in late 2020. Nourey will be donating a portion of her royalties for this release to the Foundation for Children with Microcephaly and Fraternity Without Borders.

Even more, when I learned more about the condition he has, microcephaly. He’s always smiled at everyone who has bullied him for looking different, so this track was written as a smile back at this kind soul" - Nourey

Alongside her music career, Nourey is also a postdoctoral research fellow and manager of the Climate Change and Cities Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She works closely with AnjunaHQ on sustainability initiatives, and has multiple academic awards and honours for her research.

Nourey is set for a breakthrough year on Anjunabeats, with more original music arriving soon on the label and performances lined up at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Weekender festivals at The Gorge and Dockyards London. The four-track ‘Meant To Be EP’ arrives August 8 on Anjunabeats.

Anjunabeats favourite PROFF drops his breakbeat remix of JODA’s ‘No One Walks Away’.

PROFF, aka Vladimir Ershov, is a deep-rooted member of the Anjunafamily. He made his Anjunadeep debut in 2008 with ‘My Personal Summer’. Today, PROFF has over 170,000 monthly listeners and 16,000 followers on Spotify. This year, he’s released three singles on Monstercat, remixed ilan Bluestone’s ‘Paid For Love’ (feat. Gid Sedgwick), and seen his tracks featured in the official Rocket League soundtrack. When not working on his own music, he’s nurturing the next generation of Anjuna talent as our in-house studio engineer at AnjunaHQ in London.

First revealed as the closing track to CD1 of Above & Beyond's Anjunabeats Volume 16 compilation, PROFF’s sublime rework of ‘No One Walks Away’ featured in A&B's Group Therapy 500 deep set from Venice Beach, Los Angeles.

A few days later I had a dream: I was standing in a crowd; it was some big festival and someone was playing a breakbeat version of the song. It’s been a big year for Jono Grant and Darren Tate, aka JODA. Grant is one-third of Above & Beyond who, throughout a two-decade career, have established themselves as one of the biggest electronic groups in the world. In 2019, Above & Beyond received an offer to score an environmental documentary, ‘The Last Glaciers’. He enlisted classically trained musician, songwriter, producer, hitmaker and close friend Darren Tate, and the duo got stuck into composing together.

It became a dream project all around – not least because it sparked further ideas. JODA was born. Working in Tate’s studio in suburban north London, and A&B’s south London HQ, the pair were in a creative bubble during the early days of the pandemic. And the partnership proved fruitful. Their self-titled album ‘JODA’, celebrating the musical influences that Jono and Darren grew up with, was released on Anjunabeats in August 2022 – to a rapturous reception from the Anjunafamily and beyond.

One of the newest tracks on the album, this song was directly inspired by walks around the Marina Green (near the Golden Gate Bridge) in San Francisco very late at night near the end of last year. There is something spiritual for me about walks at 3am or 4am; I love the stillness, tranquility, and feeling that the entire landscape is yours.

I fittingly debuted this record during my nearly 5-hour set at Audio in San Francisco—my first headline show.
